Current Resident: Bozeman is a beautiful place to live and it is truly breath-taking. The mountains are close and it could really take a lifetime to explore all of the trails/natural areas Bozeman has to offer. Skiing is THE main reason to live here, as Bridger Bowl and Big Sky are close and the snow is often great! However, if you are looking for more mental stimulation, creative pursuits, or cultural diversity, you will have to really search for it here. The culture here is very physically oriented and there is definitely pressure to fit in by doing mountain biking, running, skiing, and rock-climbing. Moreover, I think there is only one restaurant in town where I've really enjoyed the food after living here for 2.5 years. There is also a real lack of affordable housing and traffic is often congested. Overall, if you can afford it and you love being physically active outside, this a great place to live!... Skiing, boarding, snowshoeing, and during the summer there is no shortage of hiking, mountain biking, fishing and playing in the Gallatin River. There really is no reason to be bored! The hardest part about living here, as with most secluded mountain towns, is the difficulty of securing a decently priced place to live.
