Current Resident: I love Lawrence! I have lived here since 2018 and I get to enjoy walking to downtown on Mass St and walking to the KU campus. I have met some wonderful people here. Kansas is mostly flat, but KU sits atop a hill that allows you to see some breathtaking views of the city and trees (they are especially pretty in the fall). I love the "big city" vibe in such a small town. It definitely has an artistic feel and is very walkable. It's close to Kansas City and is overall a great place to live.... Read 467 reviews

There are so many fun festivals and activities that gather us together, and make us closer. High school sports are also huge here, and everyone comes out to support. The city has done a fantastic job with the improvement of their recreation department and facilities in the last 20 years, which has provided the members of the community, especially youth, with a place to spend their free time and participate in positive, healthy activities. The construction of a new recreation facility about 15 years ago contributed to greatly improving the well being of the community members. It's usually a quiet city with lots of things to do and see.
