Current Resident: Beaver Dam has many programs for people with special needs. My son is autistic, and I am so glad we moved here because there was a summer program he got to go to when he was younger, and now that he is sixteen, he just got involved with a program called Life Academy. This program gets kids with special needs on the right track for a job when they get older. My son wears a Project Lifesaver transmitter around his wrist like a bracelet that we test daily to ensure the battery is charged. If he were to wander off, the sheriff's department could find him within minutes. There is also a program for adults with special called Green Valley. This is a work program to help them earn their own money and feel like a part of the community. People do drive a little erratically around here sometimes, and I wouldn't mind seeing that change a little. There are also many community events for families throughout the year, and we also have a farmer's market.... Read 8 reviews
