Town in Oregon
Current Resident: I’ve lived in Bend my whole life, the mountains and the environment is unlike anything else in Oregon. It’s the perfect mix between urban and a small town feel. The coffee here is amazing, and there’s lots of amazing food options around town like Spork, WildRose, Planker, and Thump! Living here is peaceful, and if you want a town that’s not super big but also not super small Bend is the place for you!... Read 281 reviews

Current Resident: I've lived in Redmond for 8 years and I have never loved a place so much. Diversity holds strong as we house anyone from anywhere, beautiful mountains and trees surround us and our roots grow fast and deep, never making you want to leave. Summer air brings travelers but not as much as the towns near. Rivers carve the ground and give water to our surrounding wildlife. That's just Redmond.... Read 98 reviews

Current Resident: Terrebonne has been an excellent place to grow up and call home! It has a small-town feel while still less than an hour from Bend. With rivers, mountains, hiking trails, and well-defined seasons, there's a new adventure each day for every nature enthusiast! However, with real estate booming, the area has become quite unaffordable.... Read 5 reviews

Alum: I was at Ideaventions from 7th grade through 12th grade, and it was a phenomenal experience. The teachers give high quality, engaging lessons. Roughly half of the classes are project based, even the English classes, something that I think is great when it comes to learning how to work effectively. The engineering classes are all hands on, where the classwork revolves around designing and building systems. The math curriculum is deep and efficient, the teachers present the information in an efficient manner that gets at the core axioms of a concept which us students then extrapolated and implemented in order to solve problems, a method I find to be far superior to the traditional approach of memorizing steps to solve problems. The clubs! These were the best part of the school, and there are all kinds of fun clubs. A few of my favorites were the Naturalist club, Inventor's club, Math Honors Society, Dungeons and Dragons club, and the Sysadmin club. I 100% recommend this school.... Read 12 reviews

Current Resident: In my 18 years living in La Pine, I don’t have very many bad experiences. Although not many people have heard about La Pine, it seems as though we are trending in the right direction. Not only has the population grown, but the amount of businesses, stores, and restaurants is at an all time high. Located in the perfect destination for outdoor activities, you will find hiking trails, lakes for fishing and swimming, and state parks right on the outskirts. In the winter you can drive down to Mt. Bachelor for skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and more. Of course one of the most important parts of any town is the high school that represents them. La Pine High School is one of the smaller schools in Oregon and plays sports in the 3A division. With that said, in almost all of our sports and extracurriculars, we are very competitive. I would never choose a different town to spend my childhood in, and I was able to watch as La Pine grew right along with me.... Read 10 reviews

Parent: Our son entered FAIS in 6th grade for Middle School and is currently a 7th grader. From the Open House we first attended and thereafter, we've been nothing but impressed. At the Open House, teachers were present and shared with us about their courses and teaching approach. They then got so excited talking to each other about how they collaborate on the IB curriculum they eventually had to be light-heartedly "shushed" so the presentations could continue! It was awesome. And we quickly saw the teachers walked their talk. The curriculum is challenging, global and engaging. Class sizes are small and the teachers really get to know your kid and support them. Administration is open and responsive and the school does a great job of providing opportunities for FAIS families to get to know each other. Our son loves being on the school soccer, basketball and track teams. He's happy. We parents are happy. We all wish it went through high school!... Read 10 reviews

Alum: As a child of international parents moved from school to school, I found Oneness-Family School to be a warm, caring community, where I could explore my passions and interests, engage with my peers on creative projects, learn at my own pace, and enjoy a range of activities, including art, music, yoga, camping, and especially musical theater! At Oneness-Family School, social and emotional learning is taught alongside a challenging academic curriculum. I so much value the "soft skills" and values I learned there. Additionally, I felt heard, cared for and respected by all my teachers, and am still in touch with many today!... Read 18 reviews
