Current Resident: We in Rainier now have a good grocery store!! Grocery outlet and a dollar store. But Longview with all the big stores like Safeway, Kroger, Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot and many more are only a few minutes drive across the river. No traffic problems in Rainier and most homes have a beautiful river view. Property price are way less than Portland. Burglary in the outlying areas can be a problem and the city itself is a bit gritty. But all in all it's not a bad place and lots of friendly people.... Read 12 reviews

Current Resident: Scappoose is a wonderful town with a small knit community. There are local mom and pop shops that range from clothing, video games, stores, pastries, and more food! Current Resident: I had a connection to this town as a child because my grandparents lived here for years, then I moved here myself two years ago and I’m not disappointed! Although it is a long way from major commerce for shopping and doing business, it’s well worth it because it’s so beautiful! The schools are much smaller so there’s a lot more one in one attention and it is a much healthier environment because there’s not all city pollution! Current Resident: What I like about Vernonia is that my son can ride his bike down to the market and buy milk or sugar for me and he is very safe! I have gotten to know the business owners and folks in town, and people keep an eye out for each other. What I would like to see change is most peoples attitude about God.
