Current Resident: Hands down possibly the best area to raise a family in the LV Valley with UNMATCHED amenities. Tons of parks & trails; shopping at the District with top tier retail & eateries; high-end GVR Casino w/adjacent amenities & theater; good mix of excellent public/charter/private schools; HPD police substation centrally located - extremely safe area; MultiGen Center; PV Library w/cafe; several higher-end gated communities retaining their value; 10 min to airport; 15 min to Strip, but no spillover; and, drumroll please, the Dollar Loan Center which provides AHL action, indoor arena football, G-League basketball, NCAA tournaments, and an impressive family-friendly sports bar/restaurant. Find a house within walking distance to most of the above in GVR, and you have just scored BIG TIME. There are many nice communities in LV/Henderson, but none can deliver all of the above...... Current Resident: Anthem is constantly building new housing developments for incoming residents. However, when it comes to businesses, there seems to be a lack of development to make Anthem a well-rounded community. Anthem has some of the most beautiful public parks in Clark County as well as a very family-friendly feel. Diversity seems to be a bit lacking, however, as most of my neighborhood, at least, is Caucasian. Niche User: The area where I live, Henderson, is my favorite place in the whole world. I have an amazing family, go to an amazing school and in Henderson with it being so close to Las Vegas, about 10 minutes away, there is infinite things you can do. My family and I always go to a place called The District. It is a very fun and comfortable place filled with shops, restaurants, salons, etc. Aside from that, my personal neighborhood is very lovely and so close to my school and many grocery stores, restaurants, smoothie shops, and so much more. Current Resident: I thoroughly researched all neighborhood in Henderson and decided on Green Valley South. There is less traffic here, better schools and so many trees! This is the best neighborhood in the Las Vegas Area. Everyone is so much nicer here than in California. I may have just moved here in March, but I have considered this my home since 2014. Current Resident: This is seriously the best area in Vegas now. Henderson is now aging and has run out of room for new developments (not to mention that the mountains on our side of town are much prettier!). I'm surrounded by horse ranches, lots of nature, empty space, and new buildings/infrastruture/developments. People are nice and respectful here. Summerlin is the #1 target for criminals because of it's high-profile (not to mention filled with angry/pill-popping/drunk types). I'm so glad that I moved here instead of Summerlin or Henderson!... Former Resident: I love Summerlin. There is so much to do, so many great restaurants to eat at. Another great thing about Summerlin is how many parks there are to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. I would have to say my favorite spot to visit is Downtown Summerlin. Niche User: I rarely have any issues in our neighborhood, but just recently we did have two policemen knocking on our door late at night. One of our neighbors called 911 due to a couple of strange men knocking on their door around 10p.m. claiming that their car broke down and started asking weird questions about our neighborhood. The police showed up immediately but by the time they arrived, the men had disappeared and no vehicle anywhere near seemed to be broken down. The police knocked on our door because we forgot to close our garage door and they just wanted to inform us of what had happened and also to make sure that nothing had been taken from our garage.... Niche User: It is a very nice area in which I live in. Everything I really need is conveniently placed around me, I am close to my job, and the neighborhood is very nice. There is not a lot of crime around my part of town, so it is very reassuring knowing that I live in such a safe place. Everyone in the neighborhood is also very friendly which puts me at ease when I decide to go outside and walk my dog or play with my siblings. Current Resident: There are a lot of shops, live events and fun things to do in the waterfront master-planned community. The golf and spa resort is nice. Relocating from California, what I absolutely love and appreciate is the diversity, equity, and inclusion in the community; which is much appreciated and magnificent! Niche User: The atmosphere of the area is generally clean as far as appearance. No homes are run down and people take good care of their homes. However, it is so hot, and many areas must keep the houses looking the same, so the homes themselves are not very individual or unique to others. I would choose to live here again however, because the homes and the people are nice and there are not a lot of scary crimes or discomfort in this area. Niche User: Las Vegas has become a home and family to be all in itself. Because I've went to three different high schools, (Centennial, Silverado & Bonanza, respectively) I've gotten to know all parts of the city (Henderson included into Las Vegas) and seen how it differentiates from other sides of town. If you pick a right place, Vegas is not as bad a city as some people claim it to be. If anything, it gives you a lot more options and opportunities that you would actually never find in smaller/other cities in the United States. It's fairly clean for how many drunks and wanderers there are, but overall the atmosphere is a civilized society where you can get to know people from all over the world and encounter personalities you would never expect to meet.... Current Resident: My home town of Las Vegas Nevada has a unique culture as well as inclusivity for those who may not otherwise not “fit in”. Vegas has a dominant presence of individuals who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I love that there are places such as bars, coffee shops, and specialty stores that are widely accepting of alternative lifestyles. All over town you can find these type welcoming communities that bring together people with similar interests. We have exciting events and locations ranging from Anime themed restaurants to goth/punk clothing stores! Although there are many positives about Las Vegas, I would like to see change with how we approach homelessness. It’s very common to see people on streets with cardboard signs. Many are without a home and in dire need of shelter and access to healthcare. Our public shelters are crowded and the lines are long with people waiting to receive food. Current Resident: I loved growing up in Boulder City. It's a small community with lots to do and Las Vegas is only 30 minutes away. Since it is a small community, but growing rapidly, everybody knows everybody! The schools are all near each other along with the city pool and recreational center. All of the kids grow up from preschool to high school and graduate together 12 years later. It is a very safe town to live in and was once referred to as the safest town in the United States!
