Nearby Resident: From an outsider's perspective, the town of Manchester Maryland is nothing more than the average small town nestled on the outskirts of Baltimore. But the residents of Manchester and the surrounding rural areas hold the town in a special place in their heart. Everyone, young an old and myself including share fond memories of coming together as a community in times of joy and times of crisis. Every year we come together to enjoy the summer carnival where we play games and ride rides; all the while raising money to for local businesses and our own volunteer fire department. Our firefighters even show off their skills in the kitchens each years as they make mouth-watering smoked sandwiches, incredible crab-cakes, and irresistible funnel cakes. The merriment at each year's carnival may only be outshone my the heartwarming show of communal support during the covid-19 pandemic. You can play basketball, skateboard, or run out in town, or you can play piano, mandolin, read, or study while at your cozy home! There are so many possibilities to choose from each day. You will never have a dull day in Westminster! From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, you will surely have many points of excitement along the way. The people are as nice as they can be. Playing basketball with complete strangers at the park is like playing with lifelong friends, and you will never feel out of place. While in Westminster, you will have your families home, but the town itself is like a second home to all of us. If you are in the mood to dine out, then you have many choices. Current Resident: Great small town to live in! Great place to raise a family. Not much employment opportunities but taneytown is close to frederick, baltimore, and Gettysburg. I have lived here my whole life and crime is not an issue. There is a variety of places to eat and the public library is great! Not really any night life, but you are so close to other locations that its not an issue. Taneytown also has historic charm to it and lots to learn about the history of the town. The schools are great and provide exceptional education to the community. Taneytown is a great place to raise a family as well. Current Resident: New Windsor is a nice, small community surrounded by farms and farmers. This means nightlife in town consists of a single bar that is almost always packed on the weekends. Many businesses are open in the town itself and provide ample job openings, although many people commute to nearby towns. Violent crime is not really an issue, and I would consider it to be a good area to raise children. Plenty of room to grow and play!... Read 8 reviews

Current Resident: Union bridge is a small farming community about an hour outside Baltimore Md. it is very family friendly and everyone gets along great! We have parades and town get togethers and a lot of pancake breakfast where everyone can meet up and also meet new people. There is little to no crime and you can walk down any street day or night and feel safe ( most likely someone will stop and ask if you need a ride) tractors and farm equipment is on the roads as much as cars! Most people that are born here stay here and that's what makes our community great! I would not want to live anywhere else.... Read 6 reviews
