Current Resident: I've lived in Chico for over four years. In that time, I have lived in three different apartment-style houses. Throughout these experiences, I had noticed a few things. One, that the people in chico are very neighborly! I was hard pressed to find people who lived next to me that weren't friendly and helpful at any point. Two, I noticed that there is a sense of community among chico locals, and pretty much anyone is accepted as a friend at first sight. Conversely, I saw that there was a large homeless population that had been growing and growing ever since the camp fire in 2019. It has led to a disruption in this sense of community and friendliness, as most of the negative experiences I recall are from transient folk passing by and causing a form of negativity or uncomfortability to fill the air. The city treats them as nuisances, forcing them to relocate their camps. But this just moves them to a different part of the town which causes problems in the surrounding area.... Read 480 reviews

Current Resident: Magalia is my home. It's been my hometown for over 3 years. While it is a small town that has a population under 11,000 people. Although, the California Campfire wildfire affected both Paradise and parts of Magalia, the land has healed more then I realized and the people are mending. We are resilient and my neighbors are friendly. I still walk through the woods and while some spots remain unscathed there are areas burnt that have fresh green beautiful foliage growing again. And wildlife has returned. Just this morning I got to see an immense Buck Deer 🦌 on my morning hike; He was healthy and strong. The foxes have also made their appearances as well. Current Resident: What I Like about South Oroville, is the country area its not such a bad area if you live in the country, but also there's plenty to do is this beautiful town, like camping, hiking , swimming, and the scenery are beautiful. As far as what to change about this town well it would have to be the crimnals are take over there so much stealing and drug crime is out of control theres needs to be something better to get people to stop the criminal's life style . There's needs to be so kind of better open doors for people life is not easy and people are having a hard time keep a roof over their head as well as putting food on the table and its sad to see I just wish there was more open doors for people like me to stay out of trouble and off the streets something more to offer people in need of assistance its not there there fault that its hard to survie in this world ....... Current Resident: Nothing to change about this town! It's a family orientated based town. So if your looking for that small town vibes and a supportive community, then this is definitely the place. Having lived there my whole life, its a generally awesome place to live and the people are super nice. They have a moderate amount of things they put on, like the Red Suspenders Day Parade. Gridley is also in a great location being that major cities are decently close either way. Gridley is also an agriculturally based farming town, where the major crops are rice and peaches mostly. Gridley also offers two different styles of living, so if you want to live either out in the country or in the city it offers that. Overall great place to be and live!... Read 13 reviews
