Current Resident: Middletown is my hometown. We raised our family here. I love Middletown. You have the small town feel within a short drive to near by Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and Lexington. We are all very excited about our amazing new Middletown High School and Jr. High. Our downtown is an exciting place to be with local restaurants, wine bar, breweries and pubs, event venues, Sorg Opra House, shops, music and art. We have so many beautiful parks scattered throughout our town. One of the best things about Middletown is Light Up Middletown during Christmas at Smith Park. Middletown is a small family town, so you get to know people. I personally live and work in Middletown. In 1810, a year after Miami University (link is external) was chartered, the Village of Oxford was laid out and the first lots were sold. In the following year the first school was built and by 1830, with a population of over 700, the Village of Oxford was incorporated. Being in a small, rural town, the majority of the community knows each other which is great because everyone has each other's back. The neighbors look out for each other and being in Ross Township, you can always count on someone to be there to help you. The housing in Ross Township is amazing and the homes are affordable and well taken care of.
