Current Resident: Harrison has been a great place to grow up. I've lived here for almost all of the 21 years of my life. Lots of great people here. The public schools are very good, especially for being a "small town in Arkansas." Harrison is generally pretty safe. There is good healthcare with the hospital. A few good restaurants, although I wish there were some more options.
There's not much to do besides the movie theater, bowling, and going to Walmart. The cost of living is SO cheap though -- homes are dirt cheap compared to any metro area around the country.
Being in proximity to Branson, Missouri rounds out anything you may be lacking here. Branson has all the shopping that big cities have, just 29 minutes up the road.
I've enjoyed Harrison, even though I will be moving away very soon. Nonetheless, Harrison has helped shape me into who I am today, for the better!
If you desire a small-town life to raise a family with just enough amenities to get by, Harrison is a great town!
