Current Resident: It is obviously a college town. Even though it is the University of Northern Iowa I think over time it has grown out of it to become a town in itself. Current Resident: Small town. Close to both Waterloo and Cedar Falls for shopping and food. I enjoy not living in more congested area. There are less cars and people to worry about. Very few traffic lights to worry about. I enjoy there is a library, a park, a post office and other amenities that are here in town that we do not need to go into Cedar Fall or Waterloo for. Some cons are that the are 3 police men for our small town and they like to monitor for speeding a lot. Also wish there was more food options and a grocery store in the area. When you need a smaller item like eggs we have one small shop that sell some grocery items but not a lot of options or a gas station. The gas station prices are overly over prices. Other than that I enjoy living in the small town of Hudson.... Read 7 reviews

Current Resident: Waterloo is a city in Iowa with rash stereotypes. I've often heard it called "little Chicago" due to activity in and around the city but I've lived here my entire life and have never been somewhere that felt more like home. My experience has been perfect here but others may say otherwise. Many of our stores and restaurants have shut down or even been demolished due to little to no business from residents or visitors in the city. To make things more apprehensible, our mall is left with 5-7 stores which is little to nothing to what it was before. I have watched this city fall into where it's at now and that is why my rating is the way it is. I would like to see more interest given to the businesses we have while we have it, because before you know it, they may shut down tomorrow. Other than the lack of stores and restaurants, Waterloo is somewhere that has given me many opportunities to become a good person and I have taken every chance I could take to experience those opportunities!... Current Resident: Evansdale is a small suburb of Waterloo, Iowa. It has a small town feel but with the added benefit of being close to a larger town with more options for entertainment, shopping and employment. The City of Evansdale keeps the town clean and the roads are in good repair. In the winter, the road crews do an excellent job of clearing and maintaining the roads. There is also an excellent trail system through the town, offering a great way to enjoy the outdoors. One thing that I would like to see improved in Evansdale is the shopping area. I would like to see a nice little restaurant go into the town to draw people to our area. Being so close to larger big box type stores, it is hard for a smaller mom and pop type of shop to make a go of it in Evansdale, but I would like the town to get some sort of niche to bring more people to the area, whether it s some sort of entertainment or a restaurant (the kind of place that people drive for miles just to have that specialty that they offer).... Niche User: I live in a very small town where everyone knows everyone. The people are great here and for the most part almost everyone gets along. If something goes wrong or someone gets sick people are always there for each other to help out and set up benefits for the people in need. Over all it is a great community. When you go into town they are starting to make more and more changes to create more places for people to come visit and see here. This area is a very safe place to live compared to most. Niche User: Almost every day we have a friendly cop who patrols the halls in the school and to just check in to see how people are doing which makes us feel really safe. Additionally, I was in a car accident about two miles away from my house and an ambulance was there almost instantly to take me to the hospital to make sure I was okay and the first responders were very nice and did their job well....
