Current Resident: We moved here in September 2020, so we have only been here about 6 months. Neighbors are friendly but not overbearing. Houses are spaced pretty far apart, so you have privacy, it's a semi rural feel. So far it seems like a very safe place for families. There isn't much IN Greene (there is a family dollar, a small grocery store on 202 & a small library) but Lewiston and Auburn are about a 10-15 minute drive for shopping and dining out. Augusta is about 30-40 minutes away as well. You will find that not every delivery option (uber eats, walmart+, etc) delivers to this area, though instacart does along with a few other food delivery services. We have very high speed internet through spectrum, but I'm not sure if all of Greene does. My kids seem to like the schools, their teachers are personable and seem to genuinely care. Greene has its own elementary school, the middle school and high school are combined with students from Greene, Turner and Leeds and both are located in Turner.... Read 8 reviews

Current Resident: I liked the plethora of shops and restaurants. While one of the bigger towns in Maine, it still holds a nature-y aspect which I love. It has many recreational activities and centers, like parks, basketball courts/facilities, gyms, indoor pools, tennis courts, biking/walking paths, a skate park, and more! My only complaint would be the public schooling. The connection between the parents of students and the teachers/administrators are lacking. Important information feels hard to find more often than not, and staff ultimately have poor connection to parents of students, young and old. The high school is severely outdated and underfunded, but just recently got an OK to get replaced (after 15 years of it being proposed and denied constantly). Any time Auburn makes budget cuts, it's to the education system and schooling funds. Other than that, its a great place!... Read 81 reviews

Current Resident: Lisbon Falls is a sweet town with a tight knit community feeling. There are free weekly concerts in the park in the summer. A nice downtown with two new restaurants, three hair salons, a boutique, and the town library. It definitely has the 'cozy New England town' vibe. They host the Moxie Festival every summer, and a 'Very Merry Main Street' downtown night in the winter. This is a family friendly town on all costs. Elementary, middle, and high schools are all less than a half hour drive from any spot in Lisbon. There is also a fantastic local dance studio. Current Resident: Leeds is a very nice little town located in Southern-Central Maine. It has lots of farms and wild life, along with great outdoor sports opportunities from hunting to fishing to snowmobiling. It is the perfect balance between country life and city space, being about 30 minutes distance by car to the Auburn-Lewiston Metropolitan area and about 40 minutes from the state capital of Augusta. Everyone in town knows each other and the roads are very sparsely populated. It is a perfect place for raising kids and having a farm or large estate. I love my town!... Read 5 reviews
