Junior: I started attending ILTexas in 8th grade, and it's been an amazing thing to have teachers that have seen me grow. The academics were kind of rusty until about this year, we didn't have good academic programs, but now that the school has been established for a few years, it's gotten much better. Something Aggieland HS has that's different than CSISD is that we go an hour later to fit in an extra class- Chinese Class. Personally I hate it because we don't get out until after 4, but I enjoy learning Chinese, Spanish, and English at the same time. Currently, there aren't a lot of AP classes that are offered, so if that's something important to you, I would take that into consideration. Aggieland HS offers virtual learning as well, so if it's better to learn virtual you have access to virtual classrooms. Parent: Clariden is the best! Our family loves the faculty, leadership, and the program. It is a STEAM focused school going up to 12th. High school is getting a new STEAM building next year which is very exciting. Clariden’s method of project-based learning plus rigorous core courses works so well for our family. The students present their work 5 times a year which builds confidence and life skills. Student voice is respected here and students are expected to be responsible for their words and actions. Works Here: Sora is a truly unique educational model that gives students both a rigorous, project-based learning experience AND the flexibility of working from wherever they and their computer happen to be. I have worked at other virtual schools that boast about their individualized learning programs when all that really means is that students go through boring learning modules at their own pace and meet once a week with their teacher and 100+ other students.
