Current Resident: I love how I can go in my backyard and hunt and watch the sunset without no neighbors bothering my family and I. I just wish the city would clean up some areas that are over ran with trailers that no one lives in anymore because they are unlivable. But I love east million and the surrounding area and towns nearby. It is also amazing when you're sitting on your back porch at night and you can hear the midnight train passing near by. It is just so peaceful living there. Another thing that could probably change is the condition of the roads, some roads are perfect and others are divided into chunks. Works Here: Bagdad is a nice little secret! Admittedly, the town is lacking some night life and is a little conservative for my taste sometimes. That being said, there is a ton to do on the water pretty much every time of the year and it's not too far from anything. The cost of living is a steal considering there's a river to go boating on right downtown, and we're a half hour from one of the best beaches in the world. In my opinion this is the place to be because we are just close enough to downtown Pensacola that we can get to things without too much hassle, but just far enough from the activity that hurricanes (thus far) tend to spare us the brunt of direct hits...did I mention housing is affordable :)... Former Resident: Living here felt safe, but a little too boring for me. There are a lot of good things though. My daughter had a friend that she could safely ride her bike to, I could walk or ride my bike to the grocery store or to the beautiful park or to a nature trail. Niche User: You can access any type of environment here in North West Florida. We have Historical Downtown with museums, clubs and amazing restaurants. You can take a short drive north, and be in the middle of nowhere country. We are halfway between New Orleans, LA, and Tallahassee, FL. So think of all in between! But, of course, We have the beaches. There is a true laid back community there, with fishing and the general laid back nature loving "retiree" lifestyle. But there is an emerging scene for young adults as well. This is also an excellent place for a family. New parents can take advantage of amazing resources, and cutting edge hospitals. Current Resident: We bought our home here in Pace 21+ years ago for $89,900 but retired about 8 years ago. What's not to like? The Pace/Milton area, located about 20 miles from downtown Pensacola and about 35 miles from Pensacola Beach. Pace has top schools in the State, a military retirees dream and "plenty" to do. Current Resident: Navarre is a family-friendly area that instantly feels like home. The community is welcoming and there are several locally owned places to shop and eat. We are right on the beach allowing for weekends and holidays to be spent right at home rather than traveling anywhere. The school system and programs to support and enhance learning/life for children are top-tier allowing for parents to feel confident in their child's development. The people of this town are quick with a smile and you'll find yourself quickly becoming a regular at some of the many local establishments. Due to the more people learning of Navarre, there is a recent influx of construction and expansion to help our small town keep up with the growing population. Works Here: Milton is one of the best places to live in the Panhandle! It has a freshwater river, and it's also only about a half hour from Pensacola Beach. Milton has an extremely conservative history, but the area is surprisingly open to new opportunity if it's good for business. Pensacola Beach actually has one of the largest pride festivals in the country, and Milton is bringing several industrial parks to the area, which should bring in thousands of quality high paying jobs to the already fast-growing community. The real estate market is also sneaky hot right now, even though home prices remain low. I honestly think the early 2020's is the time to move to Milton. I see the growing economy and rising state minimum wage as signs of a potential cost of living boom later in the decade. The traditional conservative aspects of Milton will always remain, but I think out of state residents will start to dominate the community sooner than most of the locals here expect.... Niche User: Pensacola, Florida's crime and safety is very reliable. We have a trained swat team and law enforcement always alert and ready. The crime rate seems to be low for the area, however the human trafficking is one of the highest. This is not due to the efficiency of our law enforcement, but because Pensacola is an area with many interstates that the sex traffickers could easily drive to escape or leave the city unnoticed. When it does come to the safety of our city our law enforcement show they care and are willing to take any risk to maintain our safety. Recently, there was a couple people called the new "Bonnie and Clyde" who were in Georgia for a while and made their way down to Pensacola, Florida. Law enforcement had beed trying to track them down, but failed to do so until they arrived in Pensacola, where the local law enforcement caught them.... Read 12 reviews

Current Resident: Myrtle Grove is making a huge come back. There is now more ample lighting all the way down Lillian ,and the neighborhood s have more street lights. People walk alot in the area. Stores are close. There are several city bus stops in this area as well. The not so great part is the apartment still are low income. Visitor: Navarre is a hidden treasure on the Florida Gulf Coast. It is beautiful, laidback, and family friendly. The only drawback of Navarre is there are few restaurants. However, it is a short drive to Pensacola for more restaurant and nightlife options, and it is not far from the shopping destinations of Destin. Boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, camping, RVing, watching the Wahoos baseball team, and walking in downtown historic Pensacola! The history here is fascinating, as Pensacola is known as America’s first settlement! Historic buildings, art galleries, and museums show off our cultural side, as well!
