#3 Best Places to Buy a House in America
- Suburb of Denver, CO
- 6 reviews
Current Resident: I have lived in this neighborhood for 30 years and I love the proximity of it to all areas of Metro Denver. Where I live is close to the light rail, Highline Canal, and several shopping areas, it's like a mini city in and of itself. The only major dislike I have for the area and the state, in general, is that housing has become so expensive, it is difficult to live in the vicinity of Denver without having to work two jobs or have a six-figure income. Many people are getting priced out of their homes and apartments due to the influx of people moving in and a housing shortage. Also, traffic has become a nightmare!

Niche User: I came here 20 years ago, thinking we'd be here about 3 years, but it's been a great place to raise a family, and now we've moved our retired parents and other family members into the community! The altitude can be tough for those coming from sea level, but other than that it's a fantastic place. Concerts every Friday night (free) at local parks, parades, art events, a craft brewing cooperative, great neighbors, trails, skiing, it's a super area and it's welcoming and visually appealing. It helps that it has a great climate and good schools, too.

Current Resident: It's a safe town, you can walk the streets at night and not worry about your safety. It's just beyond the cusp on the university so it has a small town feel but is merely a few miles outside the main campus.

Current Resident: Richardson is a great place to live, and Arapaho exemplifies that wonderfully. There are many great local restaurants, coffee shops, and other businesses. The parks are nice for playing with children, walking dogs, having a picnic, or just relaxing. Arapaho has many families, but also people older and younger. It is a nice place to walk around, and the neighborhood schools are nice. The proximity to the city is great!

#13 Best Places to Buy a House in America
- Town in Indiana

Current Resident: We moved to Carmel from the northeast, and at the time I was wary of moving to Indiana - a state I knew nothing about other than farms. Boy, was I wrong. Carmel is beautiful- sophisticated, charming, kind, innovative and stocked with families all working to create a beautiful life for their kids and themselves. Infrastructure is top notch and well-planned, the homes and neighborhoods are gorgeous and affordable, the area is filled with good, high-paying jobs, the public school facilities are amazing, and quality of teaching and programs offered - both public and community programs- are outstanding. Like another poster said, come visit- you will be amazed! I’ve met so many transplants, and some who moved just after seeing Carmel during a visit with friends. I can’t imagine another city offering the quality of life we have in Carmel, we are so grateful to live here. This city is the poster child of forward-thinking leadership as well as listening to what it’s residents want.

#15 Best Places to Buy a House in America
- Suburb of South Bend, IN
- 143 reviews
Current Resident: This is a bedroom community for the upper middle class in the South Bend area. Low crime, excellent schools. Drive outside Granger for shopping and work. Developments keep the poor people out and property values high by not allowing renting of property. Many people bring their kids to my development to trick-or-treat because they see it as safer than their own neighborhoods. I see that as a compliment and welcome them!

Current Resident: I’ve lived in Fishers my whole life. It’s a very neat little community and I love it with all my heart. The people are very friendly and there are a lot of job opportunities in the restaurant and business industries. Construction and improvements are being made often to make Fishers a better community in which to live and work. The downtown area is a short walk away from most neighborhoods, and it’s only a short drive to Indianapolis. I would really recommend it to anyone looking for a place to crash for the weekend or to live in after retirement. It’s just a really great community!

Former Resident: Los Alamos is in a remote but idyllic ponderosa pine setting atop 5 mesas (7,500 ft elevation) overlooking the Rio Grande valley. It is a town of cultural diversity being the home to scientists from all over the world, yet encircled by Native American land. It is a wonderful place for raising a family...safe environment...good school system...lots of free activities designed for young families. There are many trails to hike, parks to explore, playgrounds to enjoy, museums and nature center activities to enlighten. There is a golf course, an aquacenter and ski slopes at hand. If you like to perform musically or theatrically there are various organizations which provide plenty of opportunities. There is an arts center with a shop to display ones creations. There is a large public library that is well supported by its highly educated community members. We lived in Los Alamos for 12 years...it was a privilege to have been able to do so.

#19 Best Places to Buy a House in America
- Suburb of Huntsville, AL
- 204 reviews
Current Resident: Overall a nice town, with a huge amount of tech jobs and great schools. The housing market is heavily skewed towards sellers, and the town encircled by the larger city of Huntsville. Commute if you work at the arsenal can be quite bad, and there is little public transportation. The nightlife is getting better, with a dave and busters just being completed, along with TopGolf. Politically more moderate than the surrounding areas, as the influx of tech workers moderates the staunch conservatism of the surrounding state. Alabama weather is awful. The FBI has moved into the arsenal, bringing even more jobs to the area, so the madison area is expected to become the largest city in the state in the near future.

Niche User: Where I lived, the people were really kind and generous and so very welcoming when my family moved in. The school district was rated excellent every year by the state and I didn't see it changing any time soon. My high school, Turpin High School, won the silver award for being one of the highest ranked schools in the nation. Children definitely receive a high quality of education in a safe and inviting environment. There was also very many choices for entertainment and fun things to do. My family personally loved to go to the Reds games and I loved to go to Newport and look around and visit the aquarium. There were many safe and beautiful parks and many fun school events. There were also many opportunities to give back to the community and serve others which I absolutely loved. I am very grateful that I grew up in Anderson township. I always felt safe and at home and happy. I received an excellent education that is helping me now through college. I would do it all over and move to Anderson with my family if I got the chance. The future only looks brighter.

Current Resident: Madeira is a great small town for every type of life style. The school system there is phenomenal from K-12 with many students going on to attend prestigious universities. This does make the school very hyper competitive though which can be hard for some students. There are also a variety of activities in the summer for families like free summer concerts, Shakespeare in the park, and the wiffle ball league. There is also a great sense of community with everyone in the town. Everyone comes out for the football games on Friday nights in the falls and is always there to help each other in their time of need. Overall, Madeira is a great small town to live in.

Current Resident: Bentonville, Arkansas is truly a unique and beautiful area! While it has hometown feel, it is still rather large. I was born and raised here and it is my favorite place in the world. With the Walmart home office being here in Bentonville, many thinks are given to our community and to our public schools. I am truly blessed to live in such a safe area!
