Current Resident: After 15 years of living in Miami, FL I moved to Greenville, SC- what a change! While Greenville is definitely much safer and eco-conscious compared to Miami, it still has a ways to go before becoming the "dream city" so many people desire. Greenville has many things to do during the day- the zoo, the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and breweries galore. Unfortunately, once the sun goes down so do your entertainment options. However, with a bustling housing market and plenty of space for the city to expand, I look forward to seeing what is in store!... Read 253 reviews

Current Resident: I love the Lowcountry! The city is historical and has building dating back to the days of the rice plantations. Parent: My kids have been attending Basis since before the pandemic, and we are so impressed! Rich academic curriculum, good inclusion of the arts, excellent opportunity for differentiation based on student needs. The teachers are dedicated and so are the parents to the kids' success. While the administration has been bumpy as the school has gotten established (only 5 years old), they earned their stripes during the pandemic. Organized, safety-focused and diligent about communication. We supplement school with sports leagues and scouting outside of school, which many parents do. Easy to do given the extensive choice you have in the DC area. Also appreciate the international study body with impressively bright students from all over the world. A real meritocracy, unlike other private schools that admit based on VIP status or connections/donations. In the next few years, this school will only continue to advance its place in the rankings.... Read 48 reviews

Current Resident: I love Clemson thanks to the friends I have made, networking I've established, and the experiences I've been lucky enough to have. The only reason I rate it 4/5 stars is because of two reasons: 1) traffic on the main road (Tiger Blvd) is always awful - what should be a 5 minute drive is actually a 15 minute drive thanks to stop and go traffic. 2) The college I attend (Clemson University) is outrageously expensive, and Summer courses are no exception. I will be paying $12,000 for 15 credit hours over the summer just so I can graduate in August. This is $3,000-$4,000 MORE than a normal fall/spring semester which is ridiculous. They are shorter courses, so I should really be paying less. That is why I need this scholarship, I cannot afford this last semester on my own and I have to pay my bill by May 11th.... Current Resident: Columbia is still up and coming - with established neighborhoods and a decent nightlife - there is still room to grow. There are family friendly activities and spaces everywhere - from community theater, Riverbanks zoo, and the State Museum. The nightlife can be overrun by USC students but it does not take away from a night out. Main street is in the process of being revitalized and it is only adding to the value of living here. Current Resident: Mauldin is a small community located close to Greenville. This proximity allows for a small town feel while being located close to some of the things you might miss out on while living in a smaller community. Public transit is non-existent aside from a few bus stops so a car is a must if you live here. Bike lanes are also no where to be found, although a proposed new addition of the "Swamp Rabbit Trail" should provide some much needed biking access to local residents. Mauldin has a long way to go to become the ideal place to live, but I believe recent trends made by the local government are putting us on the right track.... Read 87 reviews

The Lexington County Blowfish baseball team is a great summer past time, and the lake access is nearby. The school systems are among the top in the state. Current Resident: I’d give Myrtle 5 stars but it’s not for everyone. However I’ve lived here 10 years and have enjoyed it. People need to realize crime is everywhere, and Myrtle just keeps growing. Crime is expected to rise. With that said I have never felt unsafe in Myrtle, that’s because I know the areas to avoid like any city. Myrtle Beach isn’t that small beach town people once knew (take it or leave it) I still think it’s a pretty laid back area when it comes to beach towns. Works Here: Bullis is amazing! I am so impressed with the curriculum. Teachers challenge students academically, yet they incorporate a joyful hands-on learning experience. The enriching opportunities are endless in academics, arts, athletics, and service, which provides a well-rounded education and cultivates respect for others, confidence, and the joy of discovery. Faculty, students, and parents are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I grew up in the DC area and assumed a different experience. Parent: We are so happy at NPS! The community is so kind and welcoming, and the academic experience outstanding. The school’s core values (love, respect, honesty, safety, and responsibility) really are at the center of the experience there. Our children thrive with multiple recess breaks and physical education to keep them moving across the school day, and they so enjoy the art, music, Spanish, and other specials. We’ve been so impressed with the resources available for individual learning needs and the customized approach to helping each child with academic or counseling needs. Especially during Covid, we felt like the school put out a safety net and caught our children. Our son is in his fifth year there, daughter in her third, and they simply love going to school....
