Current Resident: I grew up here in Brandon. I had very good teachers at very good schools. There are some good places to eat and some really nice parks. They have concerts at an amphitheater quite often and activities on the reservoir. I would like to see more things for teenagers to do rather than hang in groups and get in trouble. What I like most about Oxford is the southern hospitality, the town itself is Amazing! Current Resident: I have lived in Ridgeland just about my entire life, since I was five years old. I grew up in the city of Ridgeland attending schools in the Madison County School District all the way up until now. I am a rising senior at Ridgeland high school. I have gotten comfortable with Ridgeland, and I have made friends, met amazing people, and I have a community here. There is little issues with crime, as the Ridgeland Police Dept. are serious about working to keep the city safe, and I have no doubt in my mind that they will make sure things are taken care of. It's very diverse and open to all ethnicities and races, especially the schools. I see people of different backgrounds everyday. You won't feel isolated. I remember playing with an Indian girl close to where I lived when I was young. My school is a prime example of the diversity. Students of all backgrounds mix and mingle everyday. Current Resident: I have been living in pearl for the last 5 years, and I can confidently say it is a growing place. I currently go to Pearl high school a large school with 1,300 students, but the downside of such a large class size is that the building is 300 over max capacity. This causes issues with people being unable to get to school in time just because the car rider line is so long, and not only car riders, but also buses being unable to get on time is an issue as well. We also see this in other areas where convenience stores don’t have big enough parking lots to fit all the cars. This may become an issue if my city does not start expanding and building more. The upsides are that there are starting to be more things around as more people are moving here. We’re actually gonna get a chipotle and more entertainment areas! Our subdivision has two swimming pools, 2 lakes, and sidewalks. We also have access to a small variety of books for free, but if you take one then you have to leave one. If you were to visit our neighborhood, you would instantly notice how active the community is. I believe that living in an active community such as Windstone in Olive Branch is a great way to raise your family. When I graduate from nursing school, I plan on buying a house in Olive Branch for many reasons. There are several job opportunities for those of different age groups. Current Resident: I’ve lived in Pontotoc my entire life. It has almost a Mayberry type vibe due to the fact most people are connected through family, church, school, etc. I love that most people here are very down to earth, kind hearted, and deeply rooted in faith, family, and tradition. In the past couple of years, there have been more opportunities for the community to get together downtown for the farmer’s market, food trucks, and supporting small businesses.
