Parent: Fusion Global Academy is my dream school for my daughter. Her classes and school work are the perfect balance of challenging but not overwhelming. She loves her teachers! They make classes engaging by relating topics to her personal interests. There are so many opportunities to participate in groups and activities just for fun! She loves having friends from all over the world. As parents, we have seen her grow in confidence and she has a much more positive attitude about school. FGA has eased a lot of school related stress for her. Our family loves the flexible class schedule and the ability to travel and take school with us. FGA has been such a wonderful fit for us!... Current Resident: I've lived in Bloomfield Township and direct surrounding areas ever since I moved to the Detroit Metro area in 2002. I have no plans of moving anywhere else in the area. This is a great area if not the best. Great for commuting access. You will need a car, public transportation seems to have bypassed most of the area. Higher End stores, malls, restaurants, and people. Higher educated primarily with mostly professionals and retired professionals. The people are diverse yet not really economically diverse. Very safe, quiet, great for schools for children. Clean, surrounded by lakes, and golf courses.... Read 71 reviews

Current Resident: East Grand Rapids is quiet compared to downtown Grand Rapids. I currently attend a university near the East side and love to go into the heart of East Grand Rapids for walks. Reeds Lake Trial is a popular trial and would be highly recommended. East Grand Rapids is close to main chain stores and mom and pop shops, creating diversity. There is also a diverse population as well, giving people the opportunity to experience culture. I would consider it to be a wealthy suburb of Grand Rapids with a country feel. It is not congested in any way. It is also safe compared to many big cities. Extremely nice area to live in.... Read 35 reviews

Current Resident: This community is focused on attracting residents, good schools, and maintaining its greenery. Because it minimizes commercial retail development, there are only a limited number of strip malls. Instead, there are more parks, independent stores, small businesses, and neighborhoods than one would expect of a place of similar size. The location is fantastic -- only a 25 minute drive from both the city of Detroit and Ann Arbor. Neighboring Plymouth and Novi provide plenty of dining, retail, and entertainment options. Current Resident: It’s a very safe community with great education and a great location. Lots of diverse restaurants, and gorgeous houses. Grosse Pointe has many different groups of people and is very welcoming to anyone. It’s very diverse in many ways. There are many people of many different political beliefs, races, religions, and social classes. I always feel safe walking the streets at night and feel that any stranger I meet will be kind, helpful, and welcoming. Current Resident: Beautiful, old homes. Variety of home price points ranging from bargains to OMG. Good value for taxes paid. Great school district. The waterfront parks here are amazing. People are friendly. Don't plan on living an anonymous like a big city. That said, the Pointes are insular. People here already have the friends they grew up with, so it takes time to fit in. Parents have an easier time meeting people. Young singles will find this bedroom community a drag. Restaurants offer good comfort food. There's not much emphasis on new cuisines. Politically and socially, the Park leans far more left than the other Pointes, but there's still work to be done to make this community fully inclusive.... Read 30 reviews

Current Resident: We just moved here from California in February 2021 and I really love this town. For making such a big change in geography, I feel very comfortable here. It’s definitely a more high-end town/city. The houses are well maintained, with quality architecture and beautiful landscapes. The neighborhoods are very cute, like being in a Hallmark movie. Some of the homes are amazing mansions. The town center is full of nice restaurants, classy shops, spas and salons, etc. You won’t feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere while living here. Also, the city is so close to everything! I love being able to be 5 minutes away from grocery stores, doctors and hospitals, restaurants, etc. I love walking around this town. It’s just beautiful and the atmosphere seems very safe. Yes, there are some snobby people, but I guess that’s the influence that makes it so nice! I consider this to be the La Jolla of Michigan for those who understand the reference. Minus the ocean!... Read 73 reviews

Current Resident: Haslett has been the perfect town to live in. It is close to major stores, MSU, and many exciting things but Haslett is really good at keeping all of the secluded from homes. When Im at my house I feel like I am in awhile different world versus when I am out shopping and having a good time. There are many big name restaurants around but there is also a goos amount of small family restaurants that are just as good (if not better) than the big restaurant chains. I think my favorite part about Haslett though is Lake Lansing Parks. Lake Lansing South has the big beautiful lake, an amazing playground for kids and it has so much green grass that you can use for picnics, laying in, or playing games like football. Lake Lansing north has another amazing playground, some softball/baseball fields, and stunning walking trails. I would 100% recommend Haslett to anyone, young families, college students, working families and even senior citizens. This town has showed me what I want for my home life.... Read 48 reviews

I went to elementary through high school in Midland and the school system there is unbeatable, the level of learning is very high and it prepared me for college. City in Michigan
Former Resident: Truly a magical place! A2 exists in its own world and operates drastically different from anywhere outside the city line. As the most educated city in America, A2 is full of sharp and highly intelligent people. These people tend to be very eccentric, youthful, and sometimes prickly or rude, regardless of age. It's a city of the forever young! Very walkable and dense in the urban center and stunningly beautiful everywhere you go. World-class dining, an incredibly diverse population, and a strong sense of community and optimism. Most of the population is incredibly wealthy which in turn makes living costs incredibly expensive for everyone else. However, living here is worth the price tag for the experience. Pro tip living here: take little trips into the real world (outside city lines) to give yourself a mental break sometimes. A2 is such a highly academic environment (even if you're not in school) it can sometimes be draining and feel like you're trapped in a bubble.... Read 560 reviews

The enriching opportunities are endless in academics, arts, athletics, and service, which provides a well-rounded education and cultivates respect for others, confidence, and the joy of discovery. Faculty, students, and parents are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I grew up in the DC area and assumed a different experience.
