Current Resident: Hyde Park reminds me of my home in Lubbock, TX where I grew up. There are trees everywhere, shading the streets and making walks super enjoyable, coffee, gelato, and juice shops around the neighborhood, and I feel generally safe walking around. There are limited bus routes through Hyde Park, but the ones that exist are easily accessible and just need more frequent buses. Current Resident: I've lived in Dripping Springs my whole life and overall it's a great place to be! However, sports are a HUGE deal here and the community can get pretty toxic. Also, I know lots of people who have had bad experiences with crazy parents and kids in the area. The schools are great though and have taught me a lot. Former Resident: I lived here during my college years. Unconventional from living on campus or near campus but it was worth it because this neighborhood was a heavenly oasis. A home I made my own. Within walking distance of River Stone Ranch my old apartment complex, I could reach a whole 6+ mile walking trail. Which is a totally separate walking trail from the Whole Foods nearby. If I didn't feel like spending a ton on groceries, the beloved HEB Texas grocery store is right down the road. Truly a wonderful distance from University/Downtown, while letting me escape the bustle of it all. I miss this place so much, just thinking about it takes my breath away. Still not terribly horrible traffic going to Dripping Springs for less stressful retail options. Current Resident: I love this town! I live in the suburban area, There are so many things to do, we are close to lakes (Lake Travis, Lake LBJ, Lake Austin, etc) and we are close to Kalahari (The largest indoor waterpark). We also have several schools in our district that are very highly educated and diverse. The weather here is very beautiful, it can be really hot, but better than cold/icy. We are close to the malls, like the Domain and Barton Creek Mall, which have a very large selection of items compared to smaller malls. The only con I would say related to Round Rock is that there aren't many things to do that don't cost money. There aren't many pretty views, mostly flat land, or cliffs that drop to lakes. The cost of living is going up daily, and the population continues to grow. I love this town though, and I wouldn't trade growing up in it for anything.... Read 432 reviews
