Nearby Resident: We visited several smaller towns outside of Lee County and we chose Port Charlotte. The traffic is much less than Fort Myers, less touristy, and lower crime rates l, and better cost of living than in the larger cities. It has a suburban feel and convenient to other major cities south and north of Port Charlotte. I would like to see more updates in the city, more office and industrial parks to bring in higher paying jobs, and would like to have more family oriented parks, and recreational areas to draw families into this nice community. Kinda of a balance between young and old so all generations can live and learn from each other to build a stronger community foundation. This is a great place to live AND raise a family.... Niche User: I was born and raised in this little town. Of course, as you grow up things are less exciting but I still love it here. The beaches are beautiful. Majority of the population are senior citizens, but everyone is very kind. Traffic is less than terrible, compared to New York or Nashville. If I could do it all over again, I would. The town is very relaxed with a very little crime rate. I see a big future in Punta Gorda because of the future of the population. Students attending the local high schools are very bright.... Current Resident: Rotonda West, Florida is an amazing place that checks all the boxes of a good place to live. Great affordability and close to the gulf, pristine area with friendly people and retirement friendly as well. Lots of things to do, and close to about 5 different major airports. Cape Haze in general is bliss to live in, and the weather is amazing during winter time and summer time! In the morning and early afternoon, there won’t be a cloud in the sky! Of course, living in this area it will thunder storm or rain every day for a few minutes, but that’s nice because almost every house has a pool! Rotonda West is really a wonder to live in. I highly recommend if you are looking for an overall peaceful place to live, to retire here, or if you have a family.... Read 11 reviews
