26 Best Places to Raise a Family in America
- Suburb of Columbus, OH
Current Resident: I have lived in Bexley for 4 years now and love everything about this suburb. The community is very welcoming and comfortable. There is always a new place to eat whether you are looking for something casual like pizza or even a fancier night out at the local steakhouse. The grocery shopping is convenient with a new Giant Eagle as well as a Kroger, CVS, and more just down the road. There are always new places coming about aiding in the prominent college crowd of the private institution, Capital University. Housing includes anything from apartments to beautiful old mansions. This environment is somewhere I would recommend to anyone.

28 Best Places to Raise a Family in America
- Suburb in New Jersey
Current Resident: I have been living in Upper Montclair, New Jersey since I was born, which is eighteen years. My town is very family friendly with multiple parks where children can play and adults can walk or bike around. There are hundreds of restaurants and local grocery stores where people can buy their food or sit down with friends. Every single person, whether it is your neighbor or someone walking down the street, is very kind and sociable. We are an extremely diverse community with different ethnicities and filled with people from around the world. Upper Montclair is very eco-friendly as we reduce the amount of waste by reusing and recycling items and people contribute to the environment by planting trees and tending to their gardens. I always feel a sense of protection when walking down a street which is provided by our local police department. I genuinely enjoy living in Upper Montclair as I have made many friends in this beautiful town!

30 Best Places to Raise a Family in America
- Suburb of Cleveland, OH
Current Resident: As of this date, I have lived in the town of Hudson for over a decade. While it is only a small town with relatively little do, at least in comparison to bigger cities, I would contend that it is a perfect town for those that seek a stable, close-knit community. It is a small town with fantastic schools, very little crime, and lots of opportunity to grow as a person. It is a town where you can go outside with your kids, brothers, sisters, and all others of your family without worry of victimization, without worry of impending danger. It is a wonderful little town filled with the serenity we all long for.

31 Best Places to Raise a Family in America
- Suburb of Chicago, IL
Current Resident: A very conservative middle to upper-class suburb, but a very safe area to live in. A good place to be if you don't really like to be bothered. Very close to attractions such as Woodfield Mall (largest mall in Illinois) and Deer Park town center; the shopping is abundant.

32 Best Places to Raise a Family in America
- Town in Michigan
Current Resident: I love everything about Okemos! I grew up here and hope to raise my family here as well. The public schools are by far the best in Mid-Michigan. I felt extremely prepared to go into college and was well above many other students. The math classes I took in college were even easier than the ones I took at Okemos. In addition, it is very safe and clean. There are some good restaurants, my favorite being Dusty's, but this is an area I think they can improve in.

34 Best Places to Raise a Family in America
- Suburb of Boston, MA
Current Resident: I love the minutemen trail! Safe access to a relaxing nature walk! Refreshing, calming...
The town is cute, clean and drivers strictly respect pedestrian crossings making walking around the town feel safe. Great, strong competitive schools. The town's library is a gem full of resources. It is a safe, positive haven, for the elders as well as for our youth! The grounds are very well kept in most areas. My major issue is the rental quality. Outside the landscaping is maintained, but inside, expensive rental apartments are not well kept or updated. However, we overlook this because of all the pros living here. Hmmm and then that's why they keep increasing the rents. :(

36 Best Places to Raise a Family in America

Current Resident: I love Birmingham! Downtown Birmingham is great; the city is not too big or too small, and it is very close to many places such as Detroit. I have lived here my whole life and I have never wished to live in another city and I would love to live here again after college and raise my family here.

Mount Lebanon Township
39 Best Places to Raise a Family in America
- Suburb of Pittsburgh, PA
Current Resident: I have lived in Mount Lebanon for all my seventeen years of living, so naturally, I am predisposed to liking it. Regardless, the education and emphasis on community are the outlying aspects that truly exemplify the beauty of this neighborhood. For example, Mount Lebanon's schools are recognized nationally for their excellence. In terms of community, families and friends are often found in the same, popular spots in Mount Lebanon. The downtown is known as "uptown", and it is a center for small businesses, law enforcement, and schools. People come together for public events like art festivals and light up nights. Perhaps most important to Mount Lebanon is the demeanor of the people: warm, friendly, and thankful for the safe community in which they live.

- Suburb of Philadelphia, PA
Current Resident: I've lived in Berwyn my whole live, as did my mother, father, and their parents. The community is amazing and unlike anything I've seen - everyone is so welcoming and warm, they all want to be inclusive! The special events throughout the year make the town especially unique - the Turkey Raffle, the Tree Lighting, the Fourth of July parade, they all bring a close-knit community even closer. No matter where life takes me, I hope to always end up back in Berwyn.

45 Best Places to Raise a Family in America
- Suburb of Detroit, MI
Former Resident: In all of Michigan, this has got to be my favorite town to live. I've been everywhere in Michigan and Franklin just has the best of the best. Professional citizens, charming estate style homes, quaint downtown. Only the best of everything and people who really care! The Police and businesses are nothing but AMAZING! I really like that there aren’t a lot of crisp dollars flying around this town.

Grosse Pointe Farms
46 Best Places to Raise a Family in America
- Suburb of Detroit, MI
Current Resident: As a teenager, I think Grosse Pointe Farms is great! The only downside in my opinion is other people's political beliefs. I've grown up in a split household, so I've grown to make my own political choices. For others, that's not the case. The only thing I wish for is that everyone makes their own choices and doesn't just follow their parents beliefs because they think their parents are always right.

There are many wonderful job opportunities in this community and the real estate market is always booming. Northbrook is very family friendly and everyone in the community is very supportive of one another and the community is always giving back in some way. Commuting is nice because there is not much traffic and everything is close in proximity. Northbrook is also roughly 30 minutes away from the city of Chicago, making it easy to commute for work.

50 Best Places to Raise a Family in America
- Suburb of Austin, TX
Current Resident: Rollingwood is a neat little suburb right outside of downtown Austin near Zilker park. All of our neighbors are very friendly, but the community vibe could be stronger with more sidewalks. However, as our city, complete with a mayor, is 400 houses, the police are very reliable. Overall, the location could not be better as I am able to walk to Zilker Park and the running trail on my days off, or for ACL Music Festival, an increasing popular music festival in October.
