Nearby Resident: Everyone automatically thinks of rowdy Bourbon when it comes to New Orleans, but the real magic is Uptown. Here you will find affordable to pricey local boutiques on Magazine St. As well as culinary dishes that specialize in the unique authenic taste of New Orleans. And at the Audobon Zoo, they all asked for you! The zoo is a staple to the city and is a must-see attraction.... Read 9 reviews

Parent: Sidwell has provided my children with an exceptional academic experience emphasizing critical thinking and problem solving, writing and communications, and quantitative reasoning. The workload has been substantial at times, but always enriching and interesting (i.e., rarely if ever busywork) and will fully prepare students for the rigors they'll experience in college and beyond. Moreover, Sidwell has done a great job of developing my children as well informed, highly engaged, and socially conscious citizens. Strongly recommend!... Read 72 reviews

Former Resident: This is a great neighborhood, for the most part people are welcoming and there is a strong sense of community. I grew up the area and moved back there when I had kids. As far as schools go, Lusher is the best public school in the area, but the high demand makes it rather difficult to get your kids in to that school. Overall, it’s still a great location. There’s plenty to do, with easy access to groceries, parks and the streetcar line.... Read 2 reviews

Current Resident: Upon first moving to New Orleans we lived downtown and immediately began casing the city for the ideal neighborhood to live in. Of course the Garden District instantly appealed to us because of the safety, walkability, and access to grocery stores, cafes and proximity to the streetcar. We waited until we could find an affordable apartment off of 8th and St Charles and have never been happier!... Read 1 review

Niche User: As stated before, it is said to be the safest neighborhood in New Orleans. The homeowners in the area are all very well off with great careers including doctors and lawyers. Campus police is constantly doing rounds around the neighborhood since we are close to the broadway campus of Loyola and an elementary school. Parent: The Admissions department made the application process seamless. They were easy to reach; gladly returned phone calls and inquiries; and, assisted with the application process during each step. Compared to other independent college prep institutions, RMA is a small school. However, we were thoroughly impressed with the diversity that we saw during the summer camp program; We were pleased to see that it carried over to the academic year. The curriculum is rigorous. The staff is caring. There are a variety of extracurricular activities that are day and boarding inclusive. Any family "on the fence" about RMA should definitely consider a second look, or reach out to staff. You'll be glad you did!... Read 167 reviews
