Current Resident: This neighborhood is on the edge of Downtown Tampa. It has a mix of Single Family Homes, Apartments, Townhomes, and Multi-Families. It's called Spanish Town Creek /Hyde Park after both the original developer of the area and Spanish Town Creek Waterway. Due to development over the years, the waterway has been covered up and it a now a subterranean creek. It was one of the first developed areas in Tampa. Near Univerity of Tampa, Bayshore, and Downtown. We have lived here several years and it is very safe with access to all A schools from elementary to High School and 15-minute walk to downtown. Parent: The curriculum is strong, with students working above grade level in many subjects. Teachers set high expectations and then help each child achieve those goals in a warm and nurturing environment. Each day students’ folders are filled with the work that they have completed so that parents can be informed of their child’s progress. Any obstacles are handled at early stages and the child is treated with the utmost respect every step of the way. The emphasis on STEAM is helping to prepare students for a successful future. Every member of the staff knows each kid--not only their names, but their individual personalities. Additional benefits of ACE include smaller class sizes, character development, a uniform that minimizes drama in the mornings, responsive staff, and an exceptional facility. I am confident that my children have a strong educational foundation and love of learning that will serve them well going forward.... Read 7 reviews

Current Resident: I grew up in this neighborhood. It's close the 2 malls as well as Raymond James Stadium. My mother and I always say this is the safest neighborhood in Tampa, FL. There's practically no crime and the majority of the residents are elders. It's like one of those neighborhoods you see on TV, even in 2019 all the neighbors watch out for and discipline each other children and grandchildren. To me its a great place to raise your family.... Senior: I'm a "lifer" at Shorecrest, having been here since Alpha. My experience with the school is perhaps different from students now since there have been many changes both faculty/administration-wise as well as with the newest buildings on campus. Shorecrest introduced me to reading at a very young age. I'm very grateful for that. The quality of education that I have and am receiving is top notch. Middle school prepared me very well for upper school, and now, as a graduating senior, I feel quite confident in my academic abilities. Teachers are just fantastic. The theater and athletics programs are excellent. As a small school, students have the opportunity to be deeply involved in a number of programs, ranging from service clubs to sports to the annual Spring Musical. Being able to do a range of things is important as it allows students to forge their own path by testing different areas out and seeing how they like them. If you're contemplating sending a student here, I'd recommend it.... Read 65 reviews
