Neighborhood in Bellevue, WA
Current Resident: Wilburton is the sweet spot in Bellevue, especially for families. Close-in to downtown and easy to get to the 405, 90, and 520 - and to light rail, from 2023. Excellent elementary school feeding into Chinook and Bellevue High. Hundreds of acres of parks, including the Botanical Gardens, Wilburton Hill, and Kelsey Creek Park. Yet still easier to buy or rent than neighborhoods west of the 405, which are fairly similar in character but much much more expensive.... Read 5 reviews

Alum: The thing I relished the most about this school was the loving community. Back in public school I dreaded attending each day. I strongly felt like nobody cared about me. But when I transferred to this private Christian school it was like a whole new world! Right from the start everyone was so welcoming and nice. It was something special to attend class and be taught by teachers who you could clearly tell cared about their students. Subjects that I used to find difficult were made easier thanks to those very teachers. I was also able to overcome a lot of the anxiety I'd developed back in public school thanks to the kindness I was met with. I surprised myself by participating in theater, various clubs, and tons of other activities that I in any other setting would never have taken part in. I can confidently say that the only reason why I'm a Christian today is because that school not only taught me about the love of God but made me FEEL it too. Attending Kings changed me for the better.... Read 149 reviews

Current Resident: The best part of Seattle if you are looking for a "sterile" place to live. Many of the buildings here are new and the ground is flat. Mostly tech offices and biotech labs with retail spaces and apartments for those workers. Current Resident: Overall Lower Queen Anne is great for access and beautiful views of the Puget Sound and Islands, but is a bit loud and in close proximity to crime. There are many amazing sights including the Space Needle, Mount Rainier, and on the rare clear day even the Olympic Mountains on the Peninsula. Even at night the view is perfect, looking over the downtown Seattle skyline and freight boats in the harbor. However, the streets can be quite noisy at all times of day, and most residential buildings in the area were constructed for the Seattle World's Fair in the 60s, meaning thin walls and lots of noise pollution. Crime can also be a deterrent to prospective residents, with its proximity to downtown Seattle and the unfortunate many people suffering from being unhoused. The transit system nearby is excellent, ensuring you do not have to make the hike up the steepest hill in Seattle to get to Upper Queen Anne and beyond, but many side roads also include stairs and railings.... Current Resident: Upper Queen Anne is a very beautiful part of Seattle - there are a lot of privileged schools and scenic parks. Houses are generally well maintained, and although pricey, would be a good area to raise a family. That being said, there is also a pretentious side to the area and it is very white. Seattle neighborhoods all have unique personalities so it is just important to find one that fits your own lifestyle! I would recommend the area to someone to check out.... Read 39 reviews

Parent: I love everything about Templeton Academy! They are very supportive of my son's challenges and provide it when needed. The teachers are team players with the parents as well. The project based curriculum is awesome! It gives the students the chance to learn to work as a team and also use critical thinking skills. The class schedule is unique as well where the student will take 2 courses per semester for 10 weeks and still get all their required credits. Even though school is virtual right now, my son has met some friends. Oh and the class sizes are nice and small. Another thing I love about Templeton is how they praise the accomplishments of their students. My son is featured on their social media pages for winning 2 scholarships for being a philanthropist. I highly recommended Templeton Academy for a middle and high school choice. You won't be disappointed!... Read 26 reviews

Parent: As the parent of two children in the lower school, I am extremely pleased with SSSAS. The Early Saints teachers make each day engaging for my 3-year-old. The monthly units the ES learn have prompted my son to apply what he’s learned to the world around him (the food unit they completed prompts a nightly discussion about which foods on his plate are muscle foods, brain foods, etc.). His teachers started a recent parent conference with 3 very specific adjectives to describe my son and given the examples they gave me, it is clear that really understand him as a whole child. My experiences with JK and K were also nothing short of fantastic; even during the pandemic the teachers were able to connect with my son. The K and 1st grade teachers have also provided my son a solid educational foundation; they have identified his strengths and given additional challenging work so that he hasn’t been bored. Any issues I’ve had have been quickly and appropriately addressed by his teachers.... Read 133 reviews
