Current Resident: Small town friendly! This is a neighborhood where people look you in the eye and say "Good Morning" as they pass. People will be in your business if you live here, that's for sure. Having lived all over the Bay Area in the last 30 years, I can say it takes some getting used to if you've been living in SF or other dense urban neighborhoods where it is easy to be invisible.
We bought our place in Bushrod in 2006 and have loved living here, off and on due to job changes, for the last 15 years. The easy life (easy access to transit, groceries, many ethnic restaurants, outdoor activities, wonderful weather, diversity, and very low crime) makes it difficult to leave, which is why we plan to retire here....
