Current Resident: I’ve lived here since my childhood. There is such a great diversity in this city. Everywhere you go you meet different people from different ethnicities. I’ve learned a lot of different cultures you see in this city. Most popular is the different kinds of foods there are. On every corner you find a restaurant. That’s one of my favorite thing in Los Angeles. Another thing is how many activities there are to do. I’m a person who likes to spend their time doing outdoor activities. In Los Angeles you can go to the beach, hiking at griffin park, and go rock climbing in a gym. Los Angeles is filled with anything to do. What I would like for there to change is how much homeless there are out on the streets. Almost on every block you see a homeless person. I know poverty is a hard subject to work with. Many good people have tried to help with this problem, but unfortunately it is very difficult. But I would love to see some type of improvement with this problem.... Read 28 reviews

Current Resident: I am new to the California area and have only so much to say. I am a student commuting up to an hour a day to get to school and attend my classes. The area in the city is absolutely beautiful and such an upgrade from where I used to live. The transportation and the convince of it are incredible. All the people and neighbors are lovely people, very sweet and generous. I am quite in love with the area already, I am planning on staying here. Current Resident: Nice neighbourhood with a very friendly community! I've lived here my entire life and have never had any problems with it, other than the staggering housing costs. Although I merely live with my parents it's hard to envision myself staying here even after I move out for college; it's far too expensive. Current Resident: Beautiful neighborhood surrounded by 100+ year old homes that transport you back in time with distinctive, varied architectural styles. People are diverse, welcoming and friendly. Current Resident: I have rented a two bedroom apartment in the Carthay area for the last 4+ years of living in Los Angeles. It is a very quiet neighborhood with a lot of beautiful, Spanish style houses. The streets are walkable and there are some bars, grocery stores, restaurants and drug stores in general walking distance. While I generally feel safe in this area, rent for a two bedroom apartment has been around $3K, or $2.1K for a one bedroom. Along with all of Los Angeles and probably most places in the US, crime rates have also gone up in Carthay, by large due to the pandemic I would guess. I still feel safe enough to take walks and have my windows open during the day, however I no longer have anything unlocked at night like I used to here.... Read 1 review

Current Resident: Palms is probably one of the more cost-friendly parts of LA, especially if you're in a lower income bracket. It's located near plenty of public transit, and close to some of the nicer, funkier parts of Culver City as well, so there's almost always something to do if you want to get out of the house. Unfortunately, in recent years, this neighborhood has gotten way too expensive to be able to live in comfortably and has also seen an increase in crime. Current Resident: Cosmopolitan, clean, convenient, quiet. Nestled in between Beverly Hills & Westwood/UCLA, you have Santa Monica beach a stone's throw away to the west, and the bars of Sunset/West Hollywood just a couple minutes east. Sandwiched by the Los Angeles Country Club across one street to the North, and Cheviot Hills Gold & Rec Center across the street of it's south border., coming home always feels like a nice respite from all the nearby attractions. You get to walk to work given CenCi is home to the top entertainment, legal, finance/accounting, medical firms in all of LA, with tech firms showing up, have the best mall in all of the City - the outdoor Century City Mall, and it's own subway upcoming station making it possible to be carless, with the $2 billion+ One Beverly Hills project just approved two streets over. Current Resident: Playa Del Rey is a laid back beach community where you actually know your neighbors. People are nice and accepting and there is no judgement. The beach is a great place to catch a game of volleyball with friends, layout, or take a walk or bike ride along the beach path. There are restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. You are bound to run into someone you know and stop to chat and say hi. I would like to see visitors of our city respect it and clean up after themselves. Nearby Resident: The Venice boardwalk is a very beautiful and relaxing place to spend times with friends. A lot of teens spend time here and hangout often, in fact the Venice skate park is often crowded with teens and adults. The neighborhood around Venice is very creative and welcoming. Decorated with colorful wall artwork and variety of places to eat. The local boys and girls club of Venice keeps the youth entertained, educated, and involve in the community. Current Resident: Eagle Rock is a developing Neighborhood that will grab the attention of many visitors from a range of ages from young singles/couples/families to older singles/couples/families. The town has a variety of diverse shops with different cuisines to offer its citizens from Thai to Italian! There are many eye-catching trendy locations for those who are interested in taking photos. It is also a perfect location for travelers around the world to visit during the Rose Bowl Parade being only 10 minutes away from the gathering! I would consider living in Eagle Rock relatively safe in comparison to other areas I lived in but there is still crime anywhere. There is a slowly growing population of homelessness in the area that is not being properly managed to causing risk to residents. I've had an old neighbor move out due to a conflict with a homeless man who peed in her yard and tried to burn down her house because she asked him to move away from her front gate door....
