Niche User: I have grown to love the area that I live in. However, my experience living in Martinsburg has not always been preferable for me. The neighborhood I live in I absolutely love. It is very quiet and there are a lot of friendly neighbors. The city of Martinsburg overall isn't a highly recommended area to live in, due to the fact that there are is a lot of drug use in that specific area, which is about 15 minutes from my residence. Heroin, opiates, cocaine, etc. is extremely common in the city. Recently there was a Heroin bust that consisted of arresting about 20 young individuals who had there whole lives ahead of them. I plan to make an impact on my community after graduating college with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in Addictions. I want to get into the minds of those who struggle with addictions so I can help them start a new life and encourage others that are affected by drugs to as well. I have not always lived in Martinsburg, West Virginia. I have spent time exploring other places such as Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and York, Pennsylvania. Both were very beautiful areas, but the bottom line is you can find bad qualities in any area you go to, it is just up to you to stay away from the bad influences around you. Of course, some areas are much worse than others. Since I have experienced living in a better area I definitely don't see myself settling down in Martinsburg in the future. It will always be home and where I grew up, but there are definitely better places out there with much more opportunity and growth.
