Former Resident: I believe that over the 10 years of living in Hudson County, I have felt safe throughout my town. Not to mention, welcomed by the huge community we have! The community provides several activities throughout holidays and does a great job bringing everyone together. Hudson County also contains a variety of people with different background and has an endless amount of stores. My family and I never had a problem with buying things because you can find anything and everything near you. For instance, convienence stores, gas stations, grocery stores, different types of restaurants, crafts stores, and the list goes on! Moreover, Hudson County has several transportation opportunities. There are several bus and train stations that allow you to travel to several areas, including New York. Former Resident: I used to live in Davidson County, I lived in a small and friendly neighborhood. Everything is close by and easy to access. I go to Davidson County every few weeks and it's grown a lot adding strip malls and new places to eat getting more exciting every year. Now traffic can be a little rough, but overall I enjoyed living there riding a bike everywhere was the best part! Current Resident: I love Multnomah County for all the access to nature that it offers, the quiet neighborhoods, and the friendly community living within. I do wish there were more sidewalks to walk on in more of the neighborhoods, or a more extensive bike/pedestrian path. My neighborhood has a beautiful park just down the road, but there is no sidewalk to walk on, nor even really a shoulder to bike on, so getting there by foot (the ideal way) proves to be quite dangerous. This is the case in many areas I've explored. If an extensive bike/pedestrian path could be put in, this would really encourage and allow for more local neighborhood exploration and offer an easy and safe way to exercise where we live.... Current Resident: It is a great place to live! Within walking distance of many different activities. The one thing I do not like is the snow emergency system. I was under the impression that cars would be towed if they were parked on the wrong streets for certain days. However, I have only seen them plow around those cars leaving a mess where the cars were parked. Also, when they plow the main streets that first day of the emergency they tend to block off my side street with a wall of snow. Current Resident: Douglas County has exceptional school districts such as Millard Public Schools and others. There is significant redlining that has existed in Omaha since its inception, therefore, diversity is not the greatest. Neighborhoods are safe and clean. Current Resident: Moving to Dekalb county in 2005 was one of the best decisions I ever made. Just around every corner, there is a unique jewelry store, clothing boutique, specialty restaurants, museums, and or parks. I enjoy numerous outdoor festivals. Imagine you do not have to drive eight hours away to Louisiana to attend a Mardi Gras Parade. Just head to downtown Decatur in March with a heart full of joy and mouth full of cheer. Every year there are Art, Jazz, BBQ, Blues & Bluegrass Festivals to Tree Lighting, and everything in between. DeKalb County is very progressive and in a constant state of revitalization. There is always an eat, work, and live community construction projects, new housing areas, or various beautification projects in progress. DeKalb County is known for having some of the best public schools and universities in the state. Current Resident: Dallas to me is like my second home. It has opened doors for me. I love Dallas! Even though i'm not from here, but this is my "home". If you want diversity, inclusion, respect, and good city living, come to the Big D. You can find a place here for you and your loved ones. One suggestion I would include would be more degree or online type of education that would include Bachelor's and even Master's type of level of degrees at the Community Colleges. This is especially a good fit for Dallas Colleges, which is the largest college system in Dallas, and for good reason. They are one of the most diversified and talented group of educators and students, the Big D can offer. It would be a win-win for both the communities and for employers. Even the students would be able to afford a traditional degree in less time with less funding. Plus it would give students more options for things of their interest and liking's to pursue.
