#129 Best Cities to Live in America

Current Resident: As a high school student living in the suburbs, my experience living Louisville is very different than, for example, a 20-something in the Highlands. However, your experience would be different no matter what depending on where you live in the city. Louisville is a very active and diverse community perfect for anyone. The large metro population makes for a great city feel while not being overwhelmingly populated or full of traffic like NYC or LA. Local restaurants and shops are great, as well as city events like Thunder Over Louisville, Kentucky Oaks & Derby, Forecastle Festival, the Kentucky State Fair, and Waterfront Wednesdays. In fact, the Kentucky Derby alone is enough to convince someone to move here in my opinion. It's not as big of a city as Nashville or Cincinnati, but that doesn't mean Louisville feels like a small town compared to them, either. Overall, Louisville is a great place to live and work!
