Current Resident: My overall experience in Philadelphia has been great! I was born here and came back for college because I love the cultural diversity here and wanted to live in a big city. Philadelphia is more affordable than NYC and has similar qualities at a smaller scale. I do love the proximity of Philadelphia to other cities, mountains, and the beach. Philadelphia has a decent public transportation system as well as public bike rental stations set up everywhere at an affordable price. You can easily get around by walking, and the city has some lovely trails for recreation along the two rivers on either side of the city. There are also a number of public parks and green spaces that are easy to get to as well as community gardens. There are many opportunities here to get involved in community outreach. Philadelphia has an extensive pro sports fan base and a sports complex area that hosts many games, events, and concerts. Philadelphia is well known for our thriving food scene and art communities....
