Current Resident: Overland Park is a great suburb of Kansas City. It has a terrific family atmosphere. There are plenty of places to eat and shop. OP also has great sports facilities including a world class youth soccer complex as well as several top notch sports academies. Sitting just 15 minutes outside of Kansas City, Overland Park also has access to world-class performing arts, KC Royals, KC Chiefs, the College Basketball Experience including the entertainment district Power & Light, Country Club Plaza, Crown Center (Hallmark), and much more. Of course being the BBQ capital of the nation we also are close to KC Joe's, Hayward's, Jack Stack, Gates and more!

Current Resident: Public transit is an issue in Kansas City, and the roads don't stand up to winter's well, but overall, KC is a big city with a small-town heart. Lots of great cultural stops from the Nelson to several music and performing arts venues, the only WWI memorial in the country, and a great zoo--not to mention the food!
Travel time can get a bit tricky and you'll usually have to commute but it's nowhere near as bad as big cities like Chicago, LA, or DC. There are lots of colleges in the area. KC is a pretty great place.

Current Resident: As a life long resident of Kansas City, I would recommend it as a place to live or visit. There is plenty to explore or experience in the Kansas City Metro Area ranging from Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium to NASCAR races at the Kansas Speedway, shopping at the plaza, touring the World War I music or exploring the local nightlife at Westport, Kansas City Power and Light District, or the West Bottoms. There are many job opportunities available in Kansas City as well. The Kansas City Metro area has many opportunities for working at nationally renowned hospitals such as University of Kansas Medical Center, working for medical companies such as Cerner, engineering firms like Garmin or Kiewit, and many financial institutions such as Northwestern Mutual. Not too mention, the cost of living is lower than many areas despite having one of the richer counties in the nation. Overall, the atmosphere is fairly relaxed and people are friendly to each other.
