Current Resident: THE BEST PLACE TO LIFE. As a senior in high school I have never wished to live anywhere else. The ability to walk where ever I please is amazing! The small community allows me to bond with my neighbors and grow life long friendships. The schools in the area never fail to amaze me because of the strong community bond. The schools are always finding new ways to keep the community and students involved. Even from kindergarten to seniors in high school are always connected in community service with one another. Growing up in Columbia the convenience has allowed me to grow my individuality. I was able to walk to my friends house or even just to Dunkin to hang out. Current Resident: I was born and raised in West Baltimore. I was raised at a young age to be mindful of my surroundings, avoid certain areas, neighborhoods, and people to avoid danger. I spend most of my time in places that were by default safe but when I ventured downtown (often) I made sure I was in populated places and had a buddy. With all that said, I love Baltimore! There is a lot of art and creativity in general. There is a lot of love in Baltimore especially as the younger generations are growing up. I suggest those who are new to Baltimore to stick to gentrified areas unless you have family in Baltimore that can guide you to the more advantageous areas. Unlike a lot of other cities, Baltimore is very down to earth. If you stare at us for too long without at least smiling or giving a compliment the assumption is you have an issue.
