I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT I WOULD WANT THE CITY LIFE AFTER HAVING BEEN RAISED IN A RURAL AREA. HA! JUST GOING AWAY TO COLLEGE IN A TOWN ABOUT TWICE THE SIZE HAS REMINDED ME HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE THE RURAL SETTING, 8 MILES FROM THE CLOSEST TOWN. THE NEIGHBORS ARE VERY FRIENDLY - IT'S A CLOSE KNIT COMMUNITY WHERE EVERYONE KEEPS AN EYE ON EACH OTHER. DO I SEE IT BECOMING THE SITE FOR THE NEXT MALL OF AMERICA? WELL, ALTHOUGH THERE IS PLENTY OF FARMER'S FIELDS, THEY ARE PROTECTED FROM DEVELOPMENT. BUT THAT'S OKAY, EVEN THOUGH I PREFER THE COUNTRY TO THE CITY, A MINI VACATION TO A MALL CREATES SOME BUZZ!

CRIME IS NEXT TO NIL, HOWEVER FIRES HAVE HAPPENED IN THE PAST AND BECAUSE THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS ARE VOLUNTARY, HELP CAN BE A BIT SLOW ARRIVING - THIS HAS LED TO COMPLETE DEVASTATION OF HOMES, BARNS, ANIMALS ON OCCASION AND EVEN PORTIONS OF A FAMILY OR TWO.
