The winters can be a little depressing because of how long they last, but from May to September or October the weather is usually fantastic. Summers are perfect here, and in the fall there is so much to do. People spend their weekends barbecuing, picking apples and pumpkins, raking leaves, and playing outside with their kids.

There is a pretty large variety of shops in the area, however mom-and-pop shops can be difficult to find. Most of the stores in my area are chain businesses/restaurants such as Price Chopper, Olive Garden, and Outback Steakhouse.
Most restaurants in the area close around midnight, so if you have a late-night craving for something, you are either stuck going to a place like McDonalds or the grocery store to pick up the items necessary for actually cooking what you like.
