Working in Schererville
Overall it's a great place to live. Very low crime activity, great public school system, nice housing. If you're looking to raise a family here, there is always a park, school, or daycare nearby. Less than an hour drive to Chicago, and very close the Illinois border.
I like that it is close to Chicago and their are many stores and restaurants in Schererville. Schererville is also close to the highway. It is very diverse and the commute to other towns is not bad. Schererville has a good reputation as a town, overall. It has fairs and fun things to do for families year round, but has a lot more going on in the summer. It is an affordable town, surrounded by other affordable towns.
I have lived in Schererville for all of 19 years and only have good things to say. Sure, the night life isn't crazy because it's a suburb, but it's extremely family friendly and the cost of living is far below that of Chicago. My mother makes the drive to Chicago every day for work so the commute time can't be that bad.
