I have lived in Schaumburg my whole life (currently 17 years old) and I have nothing negative to say about this place. I have never felt unsafe, my education is very good, there’s so much access to anything you may need (grocery stores, clothing/shoes, home department stores...) AND Chicago is about 45 minutes away which I wish was closer, but I can’t complain. Most everyone is friendly and nice! This is a perfect place to raise a family if you’re looking for a safe, stable environment.
Schaumburg is considered a mini Chicago. It has everything you can think of and more. If you want it, Schaumburg has it! One huge downside of living in Schaumburg is that it is super expensive to live in and has very high tax rates.
Schaumburg is a nice family-friendly suburb of Chicago with two great school districts, district 211 and district 54. The drive is about 45 minutes to an hour away to the city (during good traffic conditions) and there is a train station as well. The nightlife is not amazing here, but since it is so close to the city, there are plenty of other places to explore downtown. Schaumburg is not the most affordable suburb in the Chicago area, but because of Woodfield Mall, the taxes aren't as high as some of the neighboring towns. There are plenty of places to get food, coffee, and do some shopping. The town also holds Septemberfest every year, a three day festival with a craft fair, local restaurant tent, a carnival, concerts, and fireworks. Overall, Schaumburg is a nice sized suburb that has much to offer for its residents.
