Working in Scarborough
Scarborough is a quaint town to live in. The drivers are notably kind; every morning coming out of my street when there is traffic (there is a traffic light close by), it is not long before a car lets me turn and go in front of them. The education is notably good. The town has a park near its high school, numerous nearby pizza places, and many other convenient stores still without it being a city. I often cross over one of the Scarborough marshes, which is a good place for bird watching. One thing I would change would be, I wish they would finish road construction on Payne Road already!
Scarborough is an amazing town in which nearly everyone can fit in. There are many different sections of town, you have multiple beautiful beaches, hiking trails, storefronts, and many other attractions nearby. The location is amazing, being just a short drive away from the shopping center of South Portland and the historic Old Port. The school system is one of the best in the state, and the whole town is very family friendly. Scarborough is very large, so if you want more property but still want to be close to downtown, there are options that aren't that pricey in the west side of the town. Overall there isn't very many places that I would rather live, and I am proud to call Scarborough my home.
Overall Scarborough is a really nice town to live in! I have lived her my entire life, and I have loved it a lot. There are a lot of different beaches to go to and things to do in the summer and although its a little dead in the winter you can usually find something fun to do. The one downside of Scarborough is that there is little to no diversity and people can be a little ignorant. I think this problem is getting better and I think diversity rates in Scarborough are rising!
