I have lived in Sault Sainte Marie my entire life. I grew up with the beautiful lights of downtown Ashmun street, the colorful and incredible murals painted to express the life of the city, and the lively Soo Eagle hockey games. Sault Sainte Marie is the third oldest city in the United States of America. Although the Soo is a silent city the life here is amazing. The ice carving competition in the winter, the falling colors in the fall, and the fourth of July celebrations in the summer! The Sault, although, a hard place to live and thrive is the place I grew up and I couldn't imagine living and growing up anywhere else.

Sault Sainte Mare is a small community located in Northern Michigan's Upper Penninsula. One of the oldest towns in the United States, the "Soo" (as it is commonly known) is home to many beautiful and historically remarkable sites, including the Sault Locks, which has provided a passageway for shipping and trade between the communities bordering Lake Superior and those of the lower great lakes and beyond. Sault Sainte Marie is also home to Lake Superior State University, which is nationally-recognized for its innovative Aquatic Science program and research laboratory.
My favorite place I've ever lived! Even when you're a working mother, the pace here still feels like a slow, relaxed retirement. Life here is good.
