Saratoga Springs is an amazing place to live. The downtown is beautiful and is full of small business ranging from restaurants, coffee shops, to jewelry stores! It has several parks, tons of walking trails, a lake and is very close to the Adirondacks. I am an active person and love to spend time outside and have a ton of options in Saratoga. Saratoga is full of history and has many stories to tell.
A downside of Saratoga that it is a very rich and very white community. There is not a lot of diversity in Saratoga. The town could also do better in regards to the homeless community. There should be more resources available for them, more homeless shelters and more places where they can go to have meals every day.
I would recommend Saratoga to everyone. I grew up here, and after spending several years away from it, I moved back. I have not found a place that compares to it in beauty, activity, fun and history.

Saratoga is an attractive looking city with underlying issues. I really wanted to love this city but after 5 years of living here there are some things I just can not overlook. The community is classist and not very diverse. This is an old city with a lot of history and a lot of old money. While being a hub for concerts, horse racing and nightlife in the summer; the winters are harsh with subpar infrastructure in place to deal with it. House prices are insanely expensive(often in the millions) and rentals are also very expensive. I rented while living here and tried multiple properties; I've found that most landlords/ property managers are not very hospitable and do not maintain their properties well. Despite all of that, Saratoga is situated in the Adirondack region. There is tons of outdoor recreation to explore; Saratoga Lake, Lake George, Saratoga National Historic Park, Gore Mountain to name a few that I have enjoyed.
Saratoga Springs is a cute little town with tons of variety. You’re an easy train ride to New York City or Boston, but if you like the small town life it’s for you. Saratoga offers a variety of big brand stores and small owner shops, healthy living, gyms, and ski resorts less than an hour away during the winter. In the summer it’s populated with race horse track visitors and has a lot of fun downtown shopping. The nightlife is a hit for younger adults. Bourbon street is a must do!
