Saratoga Springs, NY is a history-rich, walkable, lively-main-street city of just under 30,000 people. It is common for residents to make a day trip for a hike in the Adirondacks high peak region. It is ~30 miles away from (between) each Lake George and Albany.
There are multiple schooling options for children (public, private, religious). There is an impressive offering of activities amidst the plethora of public parks available for all ages. Farmers’ markets operate year-round and are available 3 days a week during grow season.
The main street, Broadway, is very pleasant to walk, a great place to people watch, and an even better place to dine or socialize. The arts district in Saratoga Springs is very active. Saratoga Performing Arts Center (or, SPAC) brings main stream popular musical acts, symphonies and ballet each summer. There is a thoroughbred horse race track that operates for approximately 6 weeks every summer. There are many ways to experience "the track"!

I absolutely love this little city. It's a very safe and relatively quiet area, with lots to do. The seasons are all beautiful and it's good for outdoorsy types but also artsy or business oriented. For as small town as it sometimes feels, there's a lot to Saratoga!
I really enjoy living in downtown Saratoga Springs. Every summer we have a lot of tourists that come to visit the Race Course which is very famous. It brings a lot of money into the city and the small businesses here. It is a bustling small city that is continuously growing. There is a lot of history here and natural springs that are known to help with people's health. I would highly recommend others to visit here. I know many people who have moved all around the county but continuously find their way back here year after year. There is not many places like this small city. It is a bit pricey to live here. However, the jobs that someone can get here make it worth it and more affordable.
It doesn't have the same dangers as other large cities. The school district is very nice and lucky to have the resources they do. They continue to upgrade their technology and have top of the line teachers. It truly is a perfect place for families.
