I am a current resident, although I still live with my parents (high school senior!). But, I've lived in Saratoga nearly my whole life and I love the small town. I generally feel safe, although in the past few years there have been some robberies. The schools around here are fantastic and the houses are beautiful. There's not a ton to do for "nightlife," although there are plenty of places to grab food and/or shop. There's a lot of ethnic diversity, but not a lot of socio-economic diversity (which I guess makes sense, but I thought was worth adding). I can't really say for commute time or job opportunities, although many of my friends work part time jobs at local cafes and boutiques. Overall, it's a wonderful suburb and I'm glad to have been raised here!

Suburban and mostly residential, Saratoga has a small downtown area and a community college, West Valley. Though there's not much to do in the official city limits, nearby Westgate Center––and the neighboring cities of San Jose, Cupertino, and Los Gatos––has grocery, movie, and shopping options.
Saratoga is a peaceful, quiet and beautiful suburb about 45 miles south of San Francisco. It is mainly residential, with a few small buinesses in its quaint and pretty downtown. Most residents live in single family homes. It is a very family and pet friendly city, and has a cozy, small town feel. There are 3 elementary schools, one middle school and one high school in Saratoga. All the schools are very good, and the high school is very competitive. The only less appealing part about Saratoga is that young people might find it too quiet, and the academic pressure in high school can be stressful to some students.
