Saratoga is like a bubble. Inside this bubble is a picturesque, wealthy, and highly educated community. While my school community is extremely competitive, this urges me to improve from my past mistakes and build upon my achievements. Saratoga is also an accepting community in which those of different backgrounds are kindly welcomed.
But, the bubble of Saratoga has its negatives. People are too much attached to material items like their electronic devices. This is a result of the fact that many people fail to pay attention to what is going on outside of the bubble. Life inside the bubble is seemingly perfect, so widespread struggles, like financial instability, that are not too prevalent inside of the bubble are often ignored. This contributes to an overall self-centered view of life.
But, crime is uncommon in this city, so I feel safe here. Mountains surround this city, so I am connected to nature here. Silence runs throughout this city, so I am at peace here. Saratoga is my home.

Saratoga is a small town best known for its rigorous public high school, its safety, and its location, making it a well-regarded option for those with kids and who commute to either city. The extreme property values (even by Bay Area standards) mean that the atmosphere is usually quiet to the point of stagnancy(e.g. businesses close early and often last only a few years, few active community centers or entertainment venues, etc). Few residents are in the 20s-30s age range and instead tend to be either kids attending local schools, their parents, or elderly and living in a retirement home.
However, being able to drive to San Jose, San Francisco, or Santa Cruz all within a half hour does a lot to make up for any missing atmosphere; students regularly meet up in neighboring Cupertino or Los Gatos to get drinks or hang out. My personal favorite part of living in Saratoga are the county parks nearby, featuring redwood forests, chaparrals, and more with great accompanying trails.

I loved living in this small community where everyone really feels connected. Necessities are around a 10 min drive nearby to a small mall which is very convenient. However housing is extremely overpriced as the public school Saratoga High School holds a very high standard. That being said, the high school is very good for students and is a relatively small school compared to Cupertino schools, intertwining students.
