Sarasota is a great town to live in. There are great schools for all levels from preschool up to college. There are churches of all religions throughout. There are a multitude of opportunities to live the American dream.
I like Sarasota it is a calm and diverse place. One of the things that I like the most about Sarasota is that it seems like a mini city since you can find everything you need very close.
I fully agree with the person who said this info is outdated. This area has become extremely congested. People that moved here 30yrs ago have had to leave or move in with their children because rent has jumped up so high. I’ve had people tell me their rent went up by up to $1000 and jobs here do not pay enough. Politics is what mostly everyone wants to talk about all the time and it is exhausting. The school system here does not communicate with parents the way it should. My daughter has to tell me herself the school went into lockdown. The school should be notifying us of something that important not sending text, email & voicemail about a new video they’ve posted that has to do with nothing important. There might be a good amount of things to do but you can’t do any of them because everything and everywhere is crowded. There are a ridiculous amount of car accidents, especially one’s that include people on bikes getting hit. Don’t move here. When my daughter graduates I’m leaving.
The food everywhere is amazing. It feels like being in a less crowded major city. I have enjoyed living here.
diverse and very creative. Lots of art and new buildings, very family friendly but is still a city, and has decent nightlife in the right areas. Very traffic heavy though, and may take a while to get around.
Sarasota Florida has been my home since I was only 12 years old. I attended middle school, high school, technical school, community college, and now a private university here. Sarasota is where I met my life long friends, purchased my first home, and worked my first job. It is a place that marks all of my milestones of growth. Aside from my personal connection to Sarasota, it is a place that sees many tourist; we have beautiful beaches, world class restaurants, booming night life, art and culture, state of the art medical facilities, museums, a state park, and the locals are fun and friendly. People take the time to greet others with genuine kindness, are open to taking newcomers to see all of the beautiful sites, and there are endless recommendations for the fun things to do here. The abundance of water activities and rentals are my personal favorite, in addition to the Siesta Key sunsets.
Is a place for old people with money, rentals are extremely overpriced and this leaves the young families with no money to spend in the local businesses. This town became the waiting room of heaven I guess.
Since my parents moved here 2 years ago, I have had a great experience with the city. The people have been nothing but friendly and helpful to me, leading me to some of the most beautiful parts of Sarasota. The city also offers a variety of adventures, from beautiful beaches to wetland forests.
Sarasota is one of the most beautiful towns I have ever been to! Growing up here, I always felt loved and cared for here, and there was so many opportunities. The Art scene here is huge and there are theaters everywhere you look. The beaches are beautiful and I couldn't ask to live in a better place!
I love Sarasota. I live close to the beach, the town is so full of art, life and diversity. I highly recommend to anyone!
The atmosphere of Sarasota is wonderful. I've lived here for almost 3 years and I still find new things to do all the time. Whether it's going shopping, going to the beach or just walking around downtown there's something for everyone.
Sarasota is an overgrown beach town that has gone through a lot of changes recently. While the cultural activities, the beaches, and the weather are pluses, the traffic, housing market/lack of affordable housing, and lack of diversity and industry are negatives.
Sarasota is a quiet city full of rich people who come to live here after retirement, it is also a city full of art and an immense love for the ocean.
Beautiful town with a great downtown atmosphere. Amazing food, bars, and craft beer restaurants to hang out at. It can be over populated at times, but it is really great during the summer when school is out and there are a lot of kids hanging out.
Has a nice downtown and beaches. There are events and a nice variety of shops. There is a beautiful park downtown on the water where you can watch boats and see dolphins. There is also a playground for kids.
Sarasota has a lot to offer such as beautiful beaches, lots of employment opportunities, and good shopping and restaurant options. I would love to have more businesses catering to young people. I would also love to see the city introduce improved public transportation, as there is always a lot of traffic.
Great town in florida. Feels like an island in the middle of the gulf side of florida. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else
