It is very safe for people to walk and bike around the area, and many people do so in the summer. I do not know how well the public transportation works, as I never use it. With the exception of lunchtime, just after school, and days during which people shop for the holidays, there really isn't any traffic.

There is not a very wide variety of stores in this area. The mall has somewhere around 80 stores (none of which include the modern popular stores, like Victoria's Secret or PacSun) and there is also a shopping complex up the hill from the mall with a few more stores. It's not a great place to shop, and most people drive over an hour to find decent shopping facilities. The restaurant variety is also lacking. We have two or three nicer restuarants. The rest are basic fast food joints,
