San Luis Obispo is my home town where I was born and raised. It is the biggest little city on earth, yet is very easy to get from one side of town to the other. All the residents are friendly, and its known for its healthy living happy people. Great place to raise your kid, take it from me, I’ve lived here my whole life and still enjoy every part of it. For adult night time activity, downtown San Luis Obispo is a great place to go for a drink, dance, or even just a night out at the movie theatre with reclining seats! And not only is San Luis Obispo great as a city, but as a county as well. Head south on highway 101 to find yourself at the beach in minutes! Drive north on the 101 and you’ll see more of the country side of the county. Paso Robles is north SLO county and is very famous for its wide variety of winearies, and during the summer the California Mid State Fair.

San Luis Obispo is tucked away from the busy city life. Nestled among several scenic hikeable mountains, SLO (as the locals call it) is health friendly. You'll find many using the dedicated bike lanes for transportation to school, work, on the mountains or you can join in on Bike Night--first Thursday of every month! If biking is not your thing, there's hiking, yoga, and a spin studio. SLO also has a foodie worthy list of restaurants, a wine lovers plethora of wineries and tasting rooms, and tons of family oriented events and museums. San Luis Obispo above all is just plain friendly. The air is clean, the weather is darn near perfect, and you can find plenty of unique quirks that will want you to visit again! Just visit SLO and see what I'm talking about!
I have mixed feelings about SLO. The weather is pretty nice here -- you really get true summers and winters. As for the town, I would say as a college student, there isn't much to do. Farmers Market on Thursday nights are the most hype it gets. There is no mall -- downtown is where most of the "shopping" is, as well as a few other plazas around town. One good thing about SLO is that it is only 15 minutes away from the beach! Avila, Pismo, and Shell beaches are all extremely nice. (Shell Beach is my favorite for sunsets!)
SLO's diversity is also at a minimum. Mostly Caucasians... and that is the same for Cal Poly SLO. Very nice place to relax and retire. Other than that, a pretty boring place to live in your mid adult life.
