I was born and grew up in San Juan. It is a great city, like a lot of cities in the US and the world, have some great, beautiful, sophisticated places, but also has some poor, damaged, sad places. I have my family, my friends, my school here, and I love them. My parents work here and have had good job opportunities that have gave us the chance to live good lives, to have all things we have needed to be successful and prosperous, and to hope, wait and work for a great future. We studied in a private christian, bilingual, good college that allowed us to learn two languages. It has open a lot of very good chances for my sister and I to pursue our dreams by looking for colleges in the US and study very hard, work very hard to look for the bright future we have ahead. I am pretty sure that, with the help of God and all our efforts and hard work, we will achieve all our dreams. Great things are yet to come! Can't wait to see, to enjoy and to share with others our achievements.
San Juan is beautiful and has much character. Many aspects come from San Juan, there are old cobble stone streets, there are colorful apartments and buildings, a couple old Spanish military forts, a big city, a huge mall and so much more. However, though there is beauty there is also danger, so as you walk the streets of San Juan be careful. Another bad aspect is that of tourist, it is a main attraction for tourist from all over to go to San Juan. This causes it to be overcrowded, and they can ruin the area by being nasty, rude and impolite. So if you decide to come here, please be mindful of the area and keep it clean. Also enjoy the BEAUTY!
I was born and currently live in San Juan, yet there is still so much to discover about this city. It is home to many diverse communities, a tourist hotspot, many historical sites and local restaurants, not to mention come of the largest shopping centers. Security is better than in other places of the island, given that it is the capital, though do watch out for pick-pocketers in the tourist areas. In areas where locals thrive, I cannot say much about public schools as I went to a private one, which I enjoyed. There are also many parks for one to play and exercise, even bring your pets! Nightlife is usually bustling, especially using the holidays. Overall, it is a decent place to live for locals, and great for tourists as well!
