Our location is perfect. We have a mom and pop authentic Mexican restaurant down the street, and a Mexican Ice Cream shop in the same plaza. Also, there is a convenience store in between the Mexican Restaurant and Ice Cream Shop - they are all amazing people who work in the Plaza. It is about a 15 minute ride to Bonita and 20-30min to Bonita Beach Barefoot Access. A lot of different food spots to eat at in the area as well. 10 minutes from Gulf Coast Town Center, and 15 minutes to Coconut Pointe. The Edison Mall is about 15-20min out too. 10 minutes from RSW too! Perfect location!
Living here for 12 years has been fun, although the downsides would be there are some areas of this neighborhood that are worse than others. I live in a good area with neighbors that protect me and my family and it’s always good to create a good bond with the neighbors you do have. A lot of police tend to stay in our area due to the small amounts of crime we will have every now and then, but I personally haven’t experienced anything.
San Carlos has been my home for the last 18 years and leaving it was the hardest day of my life. While the neighborhood itself is small, there is still plenty to do with parks all around, amazing restaurants and tons of beautiful weather to go around. While it does get hot, being able to go to the beach nearly year round makes south west Florida one of my favorite places on the planet. San Carlos has always been great, rent is getting expensive however with all the new college kids moving into town but there are plenty of great homes for anyone interested in starting a family or just enjoying their life.
