When I first moved here and over the past 10+ years, it was great. I enjoyed the season changes; liked the idea of driving couple hours either direction and being at the beach or the mountains. The way of life was pretty good too; cost of living comparable to average income; taxes weren't terrible. But recently things are not looking so good; government weighing in too much of personal affairs

Oxford is a small town, if you go to the grocery store you will most likely see someone that you know. Oxford is fun for many reasons, one of them being the hot sauce festival, another being the christmas parade. However, Oxford can be boring. There aren't many big name restaurants or stores in oxford, but there are small businesses that really make the town what it is. I like Oxford because it's small, but if I'm looking to go to the mall or go see a movie, Raleigh is only about 45 mins away.
I guess that this is a family friendly community, even though the schools aren't that great.
