It's a nice area. Paddock Lake is a beautiful. Sometimes the neighbors can be rude or unfriendly if you are renters. Many people have summer/vacation homes on the lake so off seasons are especially quiet.
Great place to grow up. Small town safety. Decent public schools. Everyone knows everyone else. Decently affordable. Friendly people.
It is an alright area, depending where you are is more exciting than others. It is a very spread out town, but it is not hard to get along with people nearby.
Salem is a safe area; however, there is not much to do. It is vey rural and mostly residential. Surrounding nearby towns do offer many restaurants and stores, but you have to drive a short distance.
It is quiet town. The best part is no street lights so we can see the stars at night. I love the neigbors in my area. We are all pretty close and our children have a close group of kids to play with.
Quaint area, great for new families. Easy commute to the greater Kenosha - Racine area for work. Not much shopping or entertainment in the area itself, but there are lots of hot spots in the area like Lake Geneva, and only 45 minutes from Milwaukee or Chicago.
It's an OK city. There's nothing too special about it. Just your average wisconsin small town. There really is no nightlife because it's a small town, although there are a few pubs.
Salem is a small rural town in SE Wisconsin. Although Salem doesn't have much diversity or nightlife, it is centrally located between Milwaukee and Chicago.
I moved to Salem when I was 3. I feel that I have had a good and safe life growing up here. Salem is not just a place to live, but it is a place that is very special to me. All of my adolescent mile-stones have been reached in Salem. While I may not live here forever, I will always have memories of Salem and the millions of lessons I have learned here.
There are regular police patrols and there is no trouble with crime.
The winters are bad in Wisconsin but getting to know some of the people there has made it all worth it.
