Top Public Schools Serving Rutherford
Rutherford is an ideal place to live. It is by far the prettiest town in southern Bergen County with an easy commute to NYC via the Rutherford Train Station or bus, and is close to all major highways. After growing up in town and moving out, we returned to raise our children here. The town is often hosting fun events for residents such as parades & festivals, and offers free outdoor concerts at Lincoln Park during the Summer. Rutherford is home to Felician College and excellent public schools. My family has lived here since 1968 and many people grow up and stay. The downtown district offers many restaurants and shops. Truly a wonderful place to live!
I have grown up in Rutherford my entire life. In the small town, people are close-knit and friendly. The public school system is phenomenal, from kindergarten to high school. The restaurant options in Rutherford range from Italian, to Mexican, to Japanese. Found on Park Ave and Union Ave, the selection of food is exceptional. There are many public parks which are perfect for exercising, relaxing, or hanging out with friends. The public library is open for anyone's leisure. Rutherford is a diverse suburban community with many friendly faces.
I love Rutherford as a town for families. The people are wonderful, there is great food, great schools, and a great small town feel. There are no bars, it is a dry town, and there is no danger of letting your children wander around town at night. The cops (while overpaid) are friendly to everyone who lives in town and have a good rapport with the kids. There are some things about this town that i don't like and would like to see change. Most of the local government has been horribly corrupt. Our past mayor, McPherson was a crook and robbed the town, and her friends who are still there do the same. Lowering property taxes for them and their friends and raising it for everyone else. The constant threat in meetings is "aren't your property taxes being reviewed this year?"Besides the terribly corrupt government in Rutherford, the town itself is lovely.
