Overall balance of what I wanted for my daughters (in Middle School). While these schools don't get highest marks in state, the teachers are caring people, leaning toward classical education where they can. We found "raw milk" producer on north end of town. A growing number of clean food producers in the region. Health care has caring people in charge. Could it be the many churches with full parking lots? Lake Wilson in the county. This and more reasons to like Russell.

I like the small town vibe, it's comfortable. Most people are friendly and helpful, decent amount of things for families to be involved in.
Russell is a friendly and welcoming community that has everything you would want or need to live happily. There are near by cities that provide the nightlife and events you may want to attend without having to live in the city.
