I love the location of Round Lake, I am close to everything yet far enough so that traffic during rush hour is not an issue. I feel the pricing of homes is wonderful you get a lot for your money. Where I am located which would be considered the unincorporated area my children will be attending the Mundeline schools. Some parts of Round Lake such as my location the children attend better schools. The other parts of Round Lake attend lower quality schools. Such as the high school which has metal detectors and the reviews on the school are not positive. Property taxes are responsible for what your buying however with the amount of property taxes being paid the schools should be better.

I have lived in Round Lake my entire life. My neighborhood is full of friendly, happy people who care about one another and look out for each other. I grew up walking to the library, playing in well maintained parks, attending safe and clean schools, and shopping in stores where I felt welcomed. I love Round Lake because its citizens have pride. I am proud to live here and feel blessed to call it my home.
Round Lake is located near many parks, open spaces, and bike paths. Being so close to nature, away from hustling cities, is a strong positive for the city. It has a good selection of retail stores for grocery, clothing, etc., and it's close enough to two major mall areas. Then again, who shops at stores :) I would like it to have more major corporations in the areas for jobs. Most people have to cram the local roads and tollways to travel 45 mins or more each way to get to the larger companies.
